Passed away peacefully at Avalon Care Centre, Orangeville on Thursday, February 20, 2025, Millie in her 99th year, beloved wife of the late Wilbert (Bill) McLeod Wilkinson. Dear mother of Barb and George Vaughan, Nancy and Peter Duff, John and Debbie Wilkinson. Proud grandmother of Jenn and Mike, Amanda and Chris, Ashley (D), Lindsay and Will, Matthew, Ian and Kirsten, Grace and Troy. Cherished great grandmother of Maddy, Ellie, Piper, Cameron, Matthew, Tim, Flo, Winnie, Emma, Ivey, Liam, Theo and a new little boy on his way. Special aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Millie dedicated her life to her family and the Cheltenham community she shared with Bill on their dairy farm. Serving as a teacher, an Elder in the Cheltenham United Church, 4H Homemaking club leader, member of the Women’s Institute & UCW, volunteer with the Canadian Cancer Society, Caledon Heritage Committee and Secretary/Treasurer of the Boston Mills Cemetery for many years. Millie’s love of gardening and nature has been passed along through the generations. Her raisin scones and cinnamon pinwheels were always the first to be sold out at local bazaars and fundraisers.
Cremation has taken place. A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date with committal in Boston Mills Cemetery.

Our condolences to all members of Millie’s family. I enjoyed many years of 4-H with Millie. I especially remember a Christmas when I found out I had to make the pudding sauce. I called Millie and she told me what to do that Sunday before Christmas. Every year I make the “Millie Sauce”. Memories live on.

My memories are sharing Peel County 4H leadership with her, working together for the Snelgrove Cancer Society for many, many years and all the wonderful, fun times we had together in the park in Florida, to name a few. How very sad to learn of Millie leaving us. She will live on though as she left us a legacy of recipes in the “Green Cookbook”. Page #8 Tea Biscuits just above my Mom’s recipe; to note one of many. Two old neighbours; still contributing to feeding the next generation with their beloved recipes. Now that is a legacy. Many sincere condolences to Barb, Nancy, & John and families.

I met Millie through Chelt United Church back in the 1990’s. She was a welcome face each week. I recall her smile/giggle. She had a special “glint” in her eye – made you wonder what fun thing she was planning. I never tried her baking but I have enjoyed Nancy’s and I know Lindsay have the “gift”. Rest in peace Millie.
Judy and Lou Bell
Upon moving to Cheltenham in the 1970’s, Millie and Bill were among the first neighbours we met.
Judy worked with Millie for many years as a 4-H leader and enjoyed every meeting. She still makes her Christmas pudding recipe every year.
Our deepest condolences,
Judy and Lou Bell
