Dear Margaret & Family
It was a shock to learn of Mary’s Passing. Ours was a long friendship ,not only as Bolton community acquaintances ,but as commuters to downtown offices. It was a pleasure to have Mary’s company on numerous occasions when she was at the US Consulate, and I was at Young and St. Claire. Mary always asked about Marnie and the kids and I learned about you Margaret and your girls. Then from her home at Maple Grove she would arrange to meet me at her favorite Fish & Chip Shop. Just a few weeks ago we had talked about doing that again this spring . A warm ,friendly person ,always interested in others and who never complained about her own situation.
May Mary now rest in peace and may your memories be treasured .My sincere condolences.

Dear Smythe family,
My heart goes out to all of you during this very sad time. I’ve known Mary for a long time and found to her be a
very sweet and kind lady to talk to. Every time I would travel to Bolton, I would take note of Smythe home which was close to the intersection of Hwy 50 and Mayfield Rd. When the house was moved, I was sad that this landmark home was removed to another area but at least still in tact. The Smythe family is one of our landmark families that was part of our Wildfield family. Mary was a sweet lady and I will have fond memories of her. Fly high sweet Angle Lady.

So very sorry to hear of Mary’s passing. I worked with Mary at the United States Consulate and we shared many a good laugh. I always was amazed at how far she travelled each day to come to work.
In October of 1981 Mary typed several jellied salad recipes for me, signing the sheet, Happy Thanksgiving, Smythe. I still have those recipes.
She had a kind heart and you her family will miss her dearly.
Rest in peace Mary.

Her and had her over at my place to have

The Consulate.
