Another wonderful Elizabeth Drive neighbour has left us. What a wonderfully long life he had but, I am sure, it is never long enough for those left behind Sending hugs to all of you.

Herb was an amazing and smart man. We loved hearing his stories. He did all those puzzles in our activity room … we don’t know how. They were difficult. When he had enough he would say “fooy” and go home. He appreciated any treat we would give him. He loved his family. Herb would tell us about his trips. We were lucky to have him in our lives as a good friend.

Linda, John and Joe. My brother Stan just let me know that Uncle Herb has passed away. He had a long life and a great family around him. The last of the four Workman boys!
Take care. Betty

Sad to hear of Herb’s passing! I’ll always remember joining the Workman camping fest where Grampi’s campfire could last for days!
He was a great steward of Nobleton and loved his family dearly! Thinking of all his family! Unfortunately we are out of town for Herb’s celebration of life!

John, Linda, Joe, Melissa,Michelle,Maria and Austin;
I have great memories of your Dad – Grandpa. One of which is playing Euchre with Herb. He would always win or come in a close second in every tournament with lots of great strategy advice along the way. His love of cutting and splitting firewood with his standard comment “It warms you twice.”

The world has just lost and had the pleasure of a wonderful kind and friendly man. Many fond memories of Herb, hearing about his gardening, enjoying his homemade fudge, playing euchre (he was an amazing euchre player) between him and my Nan I never had a chance – my deepest condolences to his family and friends

We have such fond memories of Herb on many of our tours – and especially the Reunion Mystery Tours. He was so likeable, so friendly and kind, and was always a bright light in any room. We speak for many, many travellers, and of course our drivers and tour directors who had the privilege of travelling with Herb. He will be missed. Our sincere condolences to his family.

That is sad news. Herb was a great guy, although I barely knew him. I had the pleasure of being his Tour Director for two separate trips, and he was an absolute pleasure to have on both of them. (As was his son, Joe). He just had an incredible memory and thirst for knowledge. His recollection for political and civic details was second to none, even into his 90s! I guess those word searches kept his mind sharp…A very funny man, too. I can say this with certainty: he was always very popular on the trips. He just had that effect on people. Just a charming and interesting human being. He’ll be missed. My condolences to the family.

Another name from my early years growing up in Nobleton.
I remember Mr. Workman so very well as he was practically a neighbour.
My sympathy to his family.

I have many fond memories of Herb when he was a volunteer with Caledon Meals on Wheels. A true gentleman and a caring, dedicated volunteer. Everyone, clients, staff and other volunteers always enjoyed our interactions and conversations with Herb. He made a difference in so many lives and we are sad to hear of his passing.

David and I send our sincere condolences to you Linda, and your entire family. His kind and gentle way will be missed.
Kathryn Mifsud, Caledon Meals on Wheels
Herb will always be remembered by those of us at the Stationview Caledon Meals on Wheels Wellness Program as a kind and very funny man. For many years we saw Herb every week and although he loved his puzzles, he loved people more.
Herb was a pleasure to know. He will be missed.
