Loving husband, son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, Janusz “John” Dziuran, at the age of 61, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025, holding his wife’s hand. After struggling with liver cirrhosis for the past seven years, Janusz died in Markham Stouffville Hospital.
Janusz was a family man and a devout Catholic. After growing up in Poland, Janusz moved to Canada with no money to his name. He eventually landed a job as a box boy and moved his way up to management. His 80 hours-a-week work ethic was well known at the company over the course of over thirty years. Janusz was so passionate about what he did that he also helped his wife run her own shop that they opened in 2002. He employed many family members and friends at the butcher shop and would bring meat and fresh fruit to people in his life when they fell on hard times.
It was this love and perseverance that allowed him to care for his family. Janusz met his wife Kasia at a Christmas party where he drove Kasia and her dog home at the end of the night. Over the course of their 39 year marriage, Janusz and Kasia raised two daughters, Celina and Kamila. Janusz worked hard to make sure that they would have a better life than he did, and he made sure to instill his work ethic and selflessness into them–and he always had a joke to make them smile. Janusz loved his family so much that he planned regular trips for them, like to Manitoulin Island. Whenever either of his girls fell ill, he would buy them a plushie to cheer them up. When they got older and they needed to borrow the car, he would make sure to take the car through a carwash the night before and fill the gas tank. He took care of everything that needed to be taken care of around the house without ever needing to be asked.
Janusz was the type of person who would give a complete stranger the shirt off his back–which he actually did on a few occasions. He was the heart of his family and a pillar in his community. His memory lives on through all the lives he has touched as a husband, a father, a friend, and a role model.
Janusz is survived by his wife Kasia; his daughters Celina and Kamila; his sisters Danusia and Krysia; his grandchildren Scarlett Grace and Sophie Mae; and his 92 year old mother Janina.
The family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S. (Hwy. 50), Bolton (905-857-2213) on Monday evening, March 10 from 5-8 o’clock. Funeral Mass will be held in St. Eugene de Mazenod Parish, 1252 Steeles Avenue W., Brampton on Tuesday morning, March 11 at 11 o’clock. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 7300 Hwy. 27, Woodbridge. Dear Kathrine & Family
During this profoundly difficult time, our deepest condolences and prayers extend to the entire family.
The Bible teaches that God’s love for the world is so profound that He gifted His only Son, Jesus Christ, to those who believe in Him. Through faith in Jesus, individuals can avoid eternal separation from God and attain everlasting life.
We express our gratitude for the gift of His life. Our cherished friend, John, your kindness, generosity, sense of humour, and unwavering devotion to the Lord inspired us and will forever be etched in our hearts. We will deeply miss you, but we will cherish the memories we made together, your kindred spirit, and the unwavering joy you brought. John’s home was a sanctuary where we shared countless memories, filled with love, laughter, and the comfort of his presence.
John was a devoted son, brother, father, husband, and grandfather. He often spoke about his love for Camila, Celina, Scarlet, and Sofia, although he would occasionally jest with Kathrine, he held her dear. He frequently shared stories about his love for his mother and sisters. John cherished his Polish heritage, religion, and was a steadfast servant of the Lord. His contributions, support, and commitment to assisting others and his willingness to lend a hand in times of need made him an invaluable member of his community.
May his memory continue to inspire and uplift us as we navigate life without his physical presence. Together, we can honour and cherish the moments we shared with him.
We extend our heartfelt appreciation for the family’s love and kindness during this challenging time.
May his memories bring solace and joy to his family and friends.
Rest in Peace✝️
Sincerely,
Salena, Abdul, Daniel, and Family

To my best friend Victor, I am so sorry to hear of your loss of your Uncle.
It’s so sad to see those in our close family leave us. It’s like…. we could always learn more and apply their approach to life but, we didn’t get the chance.
Love you: Vic, Jo and Paul and of course your amazing parents, because they know the value of doing good in this life, just like your uncle did…. and it shows in all of you.

I wish to share my condolences to the whole family, and thought I’d share a memory and a reflection.
My most vibrant memories of John were from childhood, when I started to know him as “Wujek Jajo” (Uncle Egg for the anglophones among us) – until we got the hang of Polish phonemes, when he turned into our “Wujek Janusz”.
He had this glint in his eye that told you there was adventure and fun to be had with this particular adult; that he had not lost his sense of play like so many other adults do. As kids, we would run to him and beg for him to terrorize us; he would tie our stockings into a knot, turn us upside down, throw in a tickle or a taunt, generally rough-housing us as we shrieked and giggled with delight – running away and then running back for more. I cherish those memories, and hope to be that fun uncle when I visit my nephews all these years later.
John’s heart was his compass, which became clear when you saw the way he looked at those he loved. That’s how he continues to inspire me as I live my own life – his memory reminds me to be generous with love, especially when it’s difficult, and it will come back to you amplified. Thank you, Janusz, for sharing your life with us.
