Peacefully, surrounded by his family, at Headwaters Health Care Centre, Orangeville, on Thursday, November 10, 2011, Charles McKenzie, Bolton, in his 65th year, beloved husband of Barbara McKenzie. Loving father of Michael and Lise, Marnie and Chris. Cherished grandfather of Steven, Brandon, Johnathan, Brooke and Brianna. Dear son of Enid and the late William McKenzie. Dear brother of Doug and Debbie, Joan and Tom. Fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews.

Chuck clearly was a very big part of the Cedar Mills family. He has been missed during his illness, and will continue to be missed. As Brenda mentioned, he spoke of you and your family (including the dogs and the fish in the pond!) often, and I feel as though I know you all really well even though we only met a few times. There’s only one thing Chuck loved more than Cedar Mills and that’s his family. You were very lucky to have had such a devoted n husband and father. I’m not sure where to start. Chuck was the employee every company wished they had. He was always the first to volunteer, the first to lend assistance, the first to respond and was always precise. He always had time to help others in our organization and our folks learned a lot from Chuck. I have worked for Cummins for 4 years and I wanted you know it was great having Chuck to call on for help as I was learning the ropes with a new company. He would always drop what he was doing to lend a hand and offer good advice when dealing with sensitive situations. I would call Chuck from time to time when he was ill and I was always amazed by his positive attiude during this painful time. The mourning process isn’t easy, however, with a family that Chuck raised you will most definitley have a strong support system that will ease the pain. Chuck will be with you in the eyes of his children and grand children,certain phrases he use to say will be remembered and spoken without thought and hopefully they will bring a smile.

We are so saddened to hear about the passing of Chuck. Nothing but fond memories I have of working and riding with Chuck at Cedarmills farm. I remember many Saturday mornings starting a woodworking or some kind project at the farm and spending most of the day along side with Chuck. I really enjoyed his determination, expertise and humor…. Also a great team player as when we had our senior quadrille team and spent many hours rehearsing and finally performing. It was great to have spent the time I did with him.
