Condolence from Melissa Grelo, on behalf of The Grelo Family on November 11th, 2011 4:41 pm

Chuck….hard-worker, funny, always keeping busy, horse-lover, proud husband, father and grandfather. This only begins to describe a man who was a true one-of-a-kind. At this extremely difficult time of loss and pain, we remember Chuck’s exuberance and love for his beloved horse. He was a light in our lives that never let anything get him down. My father, Frank, felt like they were brothers – kindred spirits. You and the family are in our thoughts as you find your way though this. We are praying for your healing, with the passage of time. We know you miss him. We send our understanding and consolation. Know that the strain, the pain,
will eventually ease. May your pleasant memories sustain and comfort you. You are in our thoughts today and every day forward.

Condolence from Chantel Micallef on November 11th, 2011 7:57 pm

Dear Barb,
Chuck will be in everyone’s hearts for ever. He always showed me how to fix various things around the barn when I was young and took the time to explain everything into full detail for me even tho i was only 14 years of age at the time. I will always remember a conversation we had about how to build a fence, and we talked about building a fence from start to finish, for an hour and a half… Chuck had such patience, and i will always remember him for the rest of my life. my heart goes out to you and all of your family and friends.

Condolence from Brenda Marino on November 12th, 2011 7:51 am

Barb and family,
So sorry to hear. Chuck will be dearly missed. Chuck taught me so much about how to ‘fix this’ or ‘fix that’ at the then Cedar Mills. I called him “Uncle Chuck”. He spoke often of you all. As I watched (and tried to stay out of the way of the drill or hammer) he’d speak proudly of his family. The trips with you Barb, the lovely home you have and many reno projects going on. Marnie, he was so proud of you going back to school. And of course, I’d hear about the life-learnings of his grand-kids and their latest new-word spoken. My deepest condolences to you all. Chuck and you all are in my prayers.
~Brenda

How can we even begin to describe the wonderful man that Chuck was? Kind, giving, selfless only scratch the surface of his true character. We have so many fun and loving memories to cherish of the many hours spent with Chuck and Corcel. He was truly instrumental in developing Leah’s riding career.
He will always hold a special place in our hearts.
We hope you and your family can cope with your loss knowing that he was so loved by so many.

Condolence from Mike Brinker – Cummins Inc. on November 12th, 2011 4:39 pm

Dear Barb,
Chuck was a fellow Cummins employee. He was always fiesty. He was determined to make sure his customers received the best support – I sure admired that about him. Chuck had a lot of common sense and gave willingly of his expertise when asked. There are many in the Cummins family who knew Chuck. We shall morn his passing. He was well liked. He made us think. He kept us on our toes. He made us laugh. Sometimes he showed us a thing or two. What he gave us most was a sense of accomplishment and pride in what we were about. Thanks for sharing him with us. We have you in our hearts, thoughts and prayers.

Condolence from Kim Oakes on November 12th, 2011 9:24 pm

Chuck clearly was a very big part of the Cedar Mills family. He has been missed during his illness, and will continue to be missed. As Brenda mentioned, he spoke of you and your family (including the dogs and the fish in the pond!) often, and I feel as though I know you all really well even though we only met a few times. There’s only one thing Chuck loved more than Cedar Mills and that’s his family. You were very lucky to have had such a devoted n husband and father. As much as we’ll miss him, I can’t imagine the immense hole he leaves in your hearts and in your lives. His memory will live on in our hearts.

Condolence from Tami on November 13th, 2011 9:34 am

Barb, what a sad time for you and your family. My thoughts and heart felt feelings are with you all.
My memories of Friday night quadrilles, Saturday lunches and fall hacks with Chuck are my fondest memories. He was always there as a friend, a big brother, and sometimes a pain in the ass but always with support, love and laughter.
He will be missed with great memories of times shared.
We were all so lucky to know him.
Please know that he was loved,
Tami

Condolence from Nadia Bifolchi on November 13th, 2011 5:11 pm

My thoughts are with all of Chuck’s friends and family. He was always so dedicated to everything and everyone he loved. I spent most of my teenage years growing up at Cedar Mills and Chuck was definitely apart of that. I appreciate the rides home he used to give me, the hot chocolates/donuts on the cold winter weekend mornings and the conversations we used to have.

Condolence from Bob Crutchlow on November 14th, 2011 10:25 am

Dear Barb

I’m not sure where to start. Chuck was the employee every company wished they had. He was always the first to volunteer, the first to lend assistance, the first to respond and was always precise. He always had time to help others in our organization and our folks learned a lot from Chuck. Chuck even volunteered his time to lend his assistance to us during his tough battle over the past eleven months. Chuck loved Cummins and we were very fortunate to have such a dedicated employee and we owe much of our success to Chuck’s endless effort.

I will deeply miss Chuck. He was my fellow employee but most of all he was a cherished friend. My deepest condolences to you and your family.

Bob

I am very sad to hear about Chuck’s passing. He was a compadrie and true friend in the engine business. Whenever I needed someone to talk to about an issue, I always found a sympathetic ear in Chuck. I am going to miss him a lot. My heart goes out to his family in this time of sorrow. He will be remembered by all who knew him in the Cummins family for his dedication and strength of character.

Condolence from Brett Andrews – Cummins Eastern Canada on November 14th, 2011 2:13 pm

Dear Barb and Family,

I have worked for Cummins for 4 years and I wanted you know it was great having Chuck to call on for help as I was learning the ropes with a new company. He would always drop what he was doing to lend a hand and offer good advice when dealing with sensitive situations. I would call Chuck from time to time when he was ill and I was always amazed by his positive attiude during this painful time. The mourning process isn’t easy, however, with a family that Chuck raised you will most definitley have a strong support system that will ease the pain. Chuck will be with you in the eyes of his children and grand children, certain phrases he use to say will be remembered and spoken without thought and hopefully they will bring a smile.

God bless you all.

Brett Andrews

Condolence from Andrew Hoerner and family on November 16th, 2011 11:16 am

We are so saddened to hear about the passing of Chuck. Nothing but fond memories I have of working and riding with Chuck at Cedarmills farm. I remember many Saturday mornings starting a woodworking or some kind project at the farm and spending most of the day along side with Chuck. I really enjoyed his determination, expertise and humor…. Also a great team player as when we had our senior quadrille team and spent many hours rehearsing and finally performing. It was great to have spent the time I did with him. I will cherish the photo’s I have of us together.
Sincerely Andrew

Condolence from Bob Atchison on November 16th, 2011 12:54 pm

Barb- my deepest sympathy at this sad time. I was thinking about Charlie last night and found myself filled with nothing but good thoughts. When I was young, being one of the youngest cousins, Chuck would always take time out to spend with me (teaching me archery, flying his planes, etc.), I will always remember him fondly as a very kind and giving man to all. Be strong and know are thoughts are with you at this time.
