Angie was one of the most kind-hearted people I knew, full of wit, generosity, and charisma. I will always remember her great smile, as she always laughed at any joke, innately making many feel special. Angie was truly a beautiful person, both inside and out. The world has lost an incredible soûl and one we will all miss deeply. To Angie’s family and Efe – I am thinking of you all the time and sending my love and prayers. Angie…”we’re better together, together we’re better…”
    Miss you.

Ken, Kelsey, Ryan, Efemena and Susanne
Sue and I are struggling to find the words to adequately describe our sadness for you and for ourselves. Angie was unique. She chose to live life on her own terms, plunging into every adventure with her curiosity, intellect and humour always working full-speed. She never took the well- travelled route but she was always successful by anyone’s standards.. It was as much fun for Sue and I to know her as an adult as a child. She made us laugh with her stories – often self-deprecating. She filled a room with her smile and concern for others and she was definitely a woman of action. Right now we are devastated but we will always smile when we think of her.

My condolences to the family Ken Susanne, Efe, Kelsey,Ryan,Shirley Hugh, the Zardis and Moores May god hold your hearts for this time of sorrow.

    June 30, 2013 at 8:40 pm

I was so lucky to have worked with Angie at Albion Hills. I can’t recall a single moment when she wasn’t smiling or offering to help someone in need.

She lived an adventurous life of travel and spontaneity, which I envied.

I have never met such a beautiful person, both inside and out.

I pray for all who have ever been touched by Angie’s presence and especially her Father, Sister and Brother and Soul mate.

Angie was a true gem and we all will miss her greatly.

“Perhaps they are not stars in the sky but rather the love of our lost ones shining down on us, letting us know they are happy”

When we feel at a loss, look up at the stars. You will see that very sparkle that Angie had in her beautiful eyes. Angie is happy now.

Words cannot describe the sadness I feel right now. She left a mark on many- and she had one of the most infectious smiles that never parted your spirit and company. Despite the years and the distance, I am grateful to have known someone who was as full of life and love as she was. Never without a positive outlook. Never hesitating to lend a hand. I am lucky, to have crossed paths with someone who carved such a special place in the world. My deepest condolences to the Zardos and Efe – sending you all love and light to the moon and back.

    You are very missed, Angie.

Although Angie and I only had a few classes together at Queen’s, Efe was a good friend to me during my time in New York. He always spoke of Angie with words full of love, respect, and admiration. My heart goes out to both the Zardo and Igharoro families. God bless.

  24. Chris Boyce

    July 1, 2013 at 12:35 pm

I shared only brief time with Angie, which began when I was her orientation week leader at university. It was my role at the time to try to bring together new personalities, but I remember how often and easily Angie did the job instead. How she made melted down barriers with an energetic smile or a sincere thought. How she created true connections rather than fleeting acquaintances. And how she was one of those people that made you feel good about people in general, just because she was proof that a single person could be wrapped up in so much love and talent.

I send all my thoughts and wishes to the Zardo family and to Efe. It’s overwhelming to read the inspiring notes on this page and to see how strangers, connected only by Angie, are unanimous in admiring how she lived a full life. Like everyone she met, I feel firsthand how Angie’s spirit remains in the most warm and life-affirming reflections.

Angie was one of the most amazing, spirited, adventurous, beautiful, strong people I have ever met. The first time I met Ang I remember thinking she was always wise beyond her years and she taught me so much, most importantly how to be an amazing friend, so loyal and kind.

Ang, I miss you. I can hear your voice, your words of encouragement, your laugh. You will always be remembered as the strong, beautiful, smart woman you are. You left us too soon, always thinking about the next adventure, the next story. When we spoke about you and Efe, the excitement in your voice, your love for each other, it always made me so happy to hear. Knowing you two, two of my closest friends, found your soulmates.

We are all going to miss you Ang, you are one in a million and each and every one of us are so lucky to call you our friend. I love you

I feel extremely grateful that I got to know Angie, and I know everyone feels the same way. From the first time I met her, I knew there was something special about her. She seemed to have a sort of wisdom to her, something that you could only develop through a tremendous amount of life experiences. The more I got to know her, the more I realized that this was the case. Angie lived every day to the fullest.

I was lucky enough to live with Angie during 3rd and 4th year at “The Estate”, and as I look through old pictures, I can’t help but smile about all the good times we had. Angie was too much fun. She was also an amazing listener, and was always there to talk things out.

I apologize that I won’t be able to make the funeral. I will be thinking of you all.

It was many summers ago. Ange was a teenager full of life, energy and determination. She had a smile that would not quit along with a zest for life that could not be ignored. She was an asset and an inspiration to our team and to all who had the good fortune to know her. She was destined for success and all the good things that come with it. I attended the same high school as Angie (Mayfield), though I was a year ahead of her. I didn’t have too much interaction with her, but we shared many mutual friends and I always knew her smile and energy could light up a room. I wish I had gotten to know her better then, and was shocked to see she had passed.

Angie – you brightened everyone’s life around you, as is abundantly clear from all of these messages. With your genuity and natural sensitivity towards people, you’ve been a person that others (myself included) could confide in. Your laugh and smile will continue to light up our memories for as long as we all live. It’s next to impossible to believe I won’t see you again, or we won’t have a “FROB” barbecue and catch up at some point. May you rest in peace. Efe & other loved ones – so sorry for your loss, I can’t imagine how you feel right now. Angie is special. That will not change…

To Efe, the Zardo family, and close friends.

I will always remember the first time I really met Angie back at Queen’s. I was getting a tour of the commie mansion, and we stumbled upon Angie’s room. She showed us around, and gave me a peak into her world. I don’t remember the details of our conversation but I still remember how she made me feel. Her vibe was absolutely magnetic – it was obvious she saw things a bit differently.

As time passed at Queen’s, I got to know Angie better and while it felt like so many of us at the time were searching to make sense of everything, she already just got it – and that I will never forget.

I feel so lucky to have been apart of her life and I am so sorry for your loss.

My love and thoughts are with you.

Words cannot express the immense pain you all feel for the baffling loss of your loved one, Angie. I had the fortunate experience of working with Angie in New Jersey and the honor of meeting her soul mate, Efe. It is amazing that in the short time of knowing Angie and Efe, I instantly connected with them – A truly genuine, respectful, and inspirational pair. Angie and Efe both possess a charisma and genuineness that captives any soul they encounter. Angie’s sudden and unexpected loss reminds everyone that knew her to appreciate every day you have and that love and respect are all that truly matter. Efe, my heart is heavy with the despair you feel and will continue to carry with you for the remainder of your life. I hope that you will be able to look to your families in supporting one another through your long path of grieving and that, in time, your vivid memories of Angie will fold into the new memories you create. May the hardest day of your life be past you.

I am so sorry and so saddened to learn of Angie’s passing. Angie and I worked together in the Golder Mississauga Office. Angie was always eager to learn and to help out. She was a truly beautiful person inside and out. Her smile frequently lit up a room. While Angie was eager to learn, we would discuss the relevant information and she would listen so well. On the gala evening of the 50th anniversary celebration for Golder, Angie and Efe and my husband, Terry, and I sat and got to know one another better. An amazingly, wonderful young woman. Efe, Ken and family, I am so sorry for your loss. I will pray for you, your very heavy hearts and the journey through the days ahead. Angie clearly loved life, as she donned her soccer gear to head out and have fun after work. A sweet and simple memory. Angie, you will be missed but not forgotten.

Angie and I met at Queen Elizabeth Park School in Oakville. We were friends for a short time but she always stayed in my memory as enthusiastic, caring, kind, funny (oh the laughter), with a certain joy-de-vivre. She randomly popped into my mind this morning and I thought I might try to reconnect. I am heartbroken for her family and friends who lost such a wonderful person. It is without a doubt that her fiery spirit lives on in your memories, and to all those with whom she had connected with throughout her life. Approaching the anniversary of 10 years since her passing, I wish you all peace during this time.
