Craig Hazlett, a dedicated husband and father, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at the age of 69. For almost 40 years, Craig served his community with honour, integrity, and unwavering commitment as a member of York Regional Police. He was a provider in every sense of the word, placing the needs, happiness, and security of his loved ones above all else. An avid sports fan and lifelong fishing enthusiast, Craig loved nothing more than casting a line and passionately watching his favourite sports – hockey, baseball, and golf. He also enjoyed following the news and checking the weather forecast. However, his greatest joy was his family, and some of their most cherished memories are of the simple moments and quality time they shared together. His legacy of hard work, protection, and deep family loyalty will remain with all who knew and loved him.
Craig is survived by his cherished wife, Wanda Hazlett, his children Glenn (Maggie) Hazlett and Shannon Hazlett (Alistair Morton). In addition, he is survived by his sister, Connie (Douglas) Davey and brother, Curtis (Naggi) Hazlett, as well as his nieces and nephews.
A visitation and service of Craig’s life will be held at Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street South (Hwy. 50), Bolton (905-857-2213) on Wednesday, October 7 from 10 o’clock until the service begins at 11 o’clock, followed by a reception.

Wanda – family and all our extended YRP Family. Condolences to all of us. Words to say shock and sadness and disbelief. I have very fond memories of Craig at work and the after work functions that you hosted, in the early years.
I knew Craig for his whole career. Actually I thought I did. I am sure that many will post condolences and messages of support. I add my name to that list.
Craig was a gentleman, and a sportsman, certainly a better hockey player than me. I never had a bad day with him. A very quite guy, serious looking but a great smile and never a bad word about others.
When I think of Craig I think of his coach officer Mike Moran (92) I am sure they are up there catching up.
