
Peacefully, after a lengthy illness, at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket, on Thursday, September 18, 2014, Betty Meeker, in her 89th year, beloved wife of Russell Simpson, the love of his life for 64 years. Loving mother of her daughters Joanne Simpson, who was born sharing her mom’s birthdate and destined to be each others best friend, and Carolyn Taylor; her sons Rusty and Kim Simpson, Paul and Heidi Simpson. Cherished grandmother of Chad and Joanne Chenette, Jennie and Wes Pender; Emily, Holly and Tyson Simpson; Olivia, Reiley, Jared, Noel and predeceased by Nadine Simpson. Adored great-grandmother of Sarah, Vanessa and Xavier Chenette; Portia and Phoenix Pender. Betty was born in Medicine Hat, Alberta. Her family moved to the Lakeview area just west of Toronto. Betty and Russ raised their family in Nobleton for 50 years.
The family will receive their friends at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, 5750 King Road, Nobleton on Wednesday, September 24 from one o’clock until time of memorial service at 2 o’clock.
If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Peel, 60 Briarwood Avenue, Mississauga L5G 3N6.
