It is with sadness that the family announce the passing of Thelma at the Collingwood General and Marine Hospital on Wednesday July 22, 2009 in her 88th year, beloved wife of the late John Ellwood Madill ( deceased 1999) former Member of Parliament. Loving mother of Grant Madill and Jackie DiPietro, Patricia and Gerald Bulpitt, Janet and Tim Henderson. Cherished grandmother of Krystal (deceased 2004), Sheena, Aaron and Sarah Madill, Christopher and Joshua Henderson. Predeceased by her parents Joseph and Laura McGowan (nee Bryan). Dear sister of Donald McGowan and his wife Louise, and Marie McManaman. Sister-in-law of Mildred and her husband Verral Gillespie and Bernice Madill. The family received their friends at the Egan Funeral Home Baxter & Giles Chapel, 273 Broadway, Orangeville (519-941-2630) Friday afternoon 2 – 4 and evening 7 – 9 o’clock. Funeral service was held in the chapel on Saturday morning, July 25 at 10:30. Interment Greenwood Cemetery.
