Sylwia Mrowca-Migiel

February 20, 2026 By Egan Funeral Home 43 Condolences

Sylwia Web

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Sylwia Mrowca-Migiel on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at the age of 53 after a 3-year battle with cancer. She fought with immense courage and strength until her last breath. She died peacefully surrounded by her family at home. Beloved wife of 35 years to Robert, she was the love of his life and his soulmate. She was a proud, devoted mom and best friend to Joanna and Niki. Her parents, Grazyna and Tadeusz, and siblings, Gosia, Kinga, Tadeusz, and Ania, always filled her heart with so much love. All of her nieces and nephews treasured the time she spent with them. She joins her sister Gosia, who also lost her battle to cancer in November of last year, and the two sisters are now most certainly enjoying a beautiful hike in the mountains with no illness or pain holding them back anymore.

As a team, Sylwia and Robert worked incredibly hard and were beyond successful in building a beautiful life together in Canada with their children, filled with opportunity and their unconditional love.

Sylwia and Robert, along with their girls, shared their love for travel and went on many adventures together. They loved to explore new places, and always made sure to return to Zakopane, Poland, their second home, where Sylwia and Robert were born and began their beautiful love story. There, they were surrounded by family and made an effort to spend as much time in the mountains as possible. Over the last few years the family also discovered their love for Spain, spending plenty of time enjoying the waves, the tapas, the wine, the music and the dancing.

Before her illness, Sylwia loved her job with Caledon Meals on Wheels as a Senior Fitness Instructor and Program Coordinator, spreading her radiant joy and combining her love for music and movement. She also spent plenty of time with her friends, whether it be strolling through the neighbourhood, exploring trails, or enjoying a coffee and treat together. They were so important to her and she truly cherished these bonds.

Sylwia lived a life filled with kindness, humility, generosity and strength, and was always able to see the beauty in everything and everyone. She will be remembered for her light and infectious energy – she was a ray of sunshine, even as her illness made it more difficult to see things positively. She loved the outdoors and told her family to look for her in the birds and butterflies after she passes.

She will be greatly missed by all of the lives she touched in the short time she was here with us, and her memory will live on through every act of kindness, every smile, and every baked good. The impact she left on this world is truly profound.

The family will receive their friends on Monday evening, February 23 from 6-8pm. Funeral Mass will be held in St. John’s Parish, 16066 The Gore Road, Caledon East on Tuesday, February 24 at 11am. Followed by cremation.

The family invites those who wish to view the service through live streaming at the following link: https://www.youtube.com/@st.johntheevangelistst.cor5515/streams

Sylwia’s radiant personality shone through until the very end, and as such, it would make her happy to see those remembering her and celebrating her life dressed in some colour rather than all black.

Memorial donations may be made to Caledon Meals on Wheels (www.cmow.org).

    Dear Robert, Joanna and Niki

Words cannot express the hurt in my heart for the loss of your wife/mom.
I so enjoyed volunteering with your mom. She was the most bubbly enthusiastic person I knew. I will never forget our times together at Tim Horton’s when we were promoting the cookie campaign. She and I would stand with our signs and wherever she saw the most people she would be there like a dirty shirt saying “buy a cookie buy a cookie”. I am sure sales quadrupled while she was on shift.

I am going to miss her terribly but not as much as you.
She is now out of all that pain and with her sister.
All the memories that you hold on to will now become a treasure.

Rest in Peace my dear friend.
    Love you

Such an amazing Energy! Our family cannot believe she is gone ! As a fellow mom we came in and out of each other’s lives since our daughters were in JK. We shared how happy we were to be moms and partners to our husbands.
We shared sweets, wine, and many laughs. Her family was her life and yet somehow she always managed to find time for others with a kind phone call, or an invitation for coffee.
Her story with Robert and their journey to Canada was amazing, and we always talked about how important their beautiful partnership was! They worked hard but they worked together!
She was always so proud of how kind and thoughtful her children were. Her daughters share her kindness and affection for helping others. We shared many conversations of being proud to provide such great lives for our girls !
Even with cancer we had sat in her backyard looking at the sky and she would marvel at what was so simple. A beautiful hot day, the birds flying around us and the amazing life she appreciated so much.
We will miss your beautiful eyes, your appreciation for the simple things in life, your baking , your amazing hugs and your always kind words!
Without doubt, you are flying high and surrounding Robert and your sweet girls with your warm energy❤️

I had the privilege of working with Sylwia starting in 2012 at Caledon Meals on Wheels. From the very beginning, she brought a bubbly, joyful spirit that naturally drew people to her, both in her work and in her personal life.

She had a remarkable way of making everyone feel welcome and appreciated. Whether it was through her warm smile, her kind words, or the homemade baked sweets she so thoughtfully prepared for her coworkers, she showed her care in ways that truly touched people. Every trip to Poland she returned with special treats for all of us.

Sylwia made a lasting impact on the many lives she encountered. The world has truly lost someone special, and her absence will be felt deeply by all who knew her. She will be profoundly missed.

Wishing her family comfort and peace in the many special memories they hold close to their hearts.

I did not meet Silwia in person but her beauty, kindness and love for Robert and their daughters has been transponded on the tennis court .
It was a sunny day when Robert brought the most delicious sour cherries cake made by Sylvia that we all devoured after the tennis match .
I remember another sunny Sunday morning when Robert showed up beaming in a new tennis outfit bought by Silwia !
Little did we know what was coming ….
We, the members of the tennis team, felt the torture and tormenting fight that Robert and Silwia endured for 3 years. They fought together until the last drop and we tried to give healing vibes and hope in a miracle !
However she is not suffering any longer and her spirit and beauty will always surround her loved ones. Her legacy of kindness touched so many lives !

    Our deepest condolences,
Ecaterina, Ion and the Bolton Tennis Team

Words cannot express the pain in our hearts for the loss of Sylwia. Thoughts of not seeing her, hearing her and talking to her again is heartbreaking. It’s hard not to think of Sylwia. Our long lasting friendship brings back wonderful time we spent together. We thought we would grow old together as friends but God has different plans. All our shared memories just keep on flashing back. We still can feel her love and laughter, see her smile and joy. If only we knew that Sylwia would be gone, we should have hugged her for a long time when we last saw her in Krakow. Sylwia is in our hearts, always loved, forever missed and never forgotten.

Dear Robert, Joanna, Nicole and family our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this most difficult time. May God bless you and be with you!

    Robert, Joanna and Niki,

As we pass through this life, we can only hope we have left it better than when we arrived. Job well done, Sylwia! In your 53 years, you have impacted thousands of lives with your positive character, your deep and meaningful conversations, or sometimes, with just your smile. You have raised two beautiful daughters who will carry on your love and memories, along with Robert, the love of your life.

We were blessed to have you for over a decade at Caledon Meals on Wheels, as you made a real difference to our seniors and so many more. You generously shared your belief in movement, your love of nature and your infectious humour with all who came your way. You made us better.

I’ll cherish the days I looked to my left at the desk beside me, and saw you there.

We all miss you but will carry a part of you forward with us forever.

My cherished friend. We spent so many times together talking about our love of fitness and how we could impact the lives of seniors in Caledon. We loved our trips to London for the Annual Centre for Activity and Aging summer seminars. As we travelled along the 401 we talked over and over again about the importance of a healthy lifestyle. I loved going to her home and looking at pictures of her trips and especially her family in Poland. You will never meet such a loving soul. I will miss our talks, sharing hummus and plum cakes. Those eyes, those beautiful eyes I will miss……
