Steven Spencer Norris passed away on 21 April 2026; a devoted husband, partner, friend & soulmate to his beloved wife, Debby.
Steven was also a caring father and grandfather, much loved by his children Jaime (Dave), Matthew (Jennie), Christopher (Sam), and Melanie; and his cherished grandchildren Ben, Maya, and Olivia, each who brought him immense joy and pride.
Born on 13 March 1950, Steven led a truly international life. An intrepid traveller and dedicated provider, he lived, worked and raised his family across the United Kingdom, Canada, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore and Australia embracing each chapter with enthusiasm and adaptability. Eventually returning to Canada, Steven retired at the remarkably young age of 49, having built a life full of experiences and love for different cultures.
Steven was well known for his passion for bridge. An avid player, he went on to run and grow the Albion Bridge Club, where he became a respected director and a familiar, welcoming presence. His love of the game was matched by his enjoyment of the people around the table, and he took great pride in fostering a sense of community through the club.
Steve built a rich legacy of family, friendship, and a life lived with curiosity, warmth, and determination. He will also be fondly remembered by extended family and friends across the world whose lives he touched through his kindness, humour, and generous spirit. He will be deeply missed by many.
A memorial reception in honour of Steven’s life will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S. (Hwy 50), Bolton (905-857-2213).
If desired, memorial donations made to Matthews House Hospice Foundation would be appreciated.
Steven will be lovingly remembered for his adventurous spirit, his sharp mind, and his unwavering commitment to his family. He leaves behind memories that will be treasured always.

Chuck and I knew Steve for over 15 years. We met playing bridge at the Bolton Senior Centre many years ago, when he was just starting his journey with the game. I had the pleasure of playing bridge with Steve and also so enjoyed his incredible work as the Direct of the Albion Hills Bridge Club.
It was a privilege to know Steve in this capacity, but even more of an honour to experience his friendship for so many years. Steve was a genuine gentleman.

We first met Steve at the bridge club in Caledon East…and remember his thoughtful support for those with dementia.
A teacher at heart, Steve’s bridge lessons enlightened many aspiring players with the hidden subtleties of the game we all love to play so dearly.
