Mary-Ann, Kim, Diane and the rest of the family – my heart is sad reading this. Your mama was the epitome of love. So many fond memories as a younger person. Over the years every time I’d see her, she’d always have a great big smile on her face followed by a hug and always wanting to know how I was.
May the love and memories of your mom always be with you. Sending all of you my deepest condolences.

Dacres Family.
We all knew Olive to be a very kind and nuturing woman. She must have also been very patient as i am certain that David probably tip toed over her every last nerve. To Davids circle of friends and around our house she was known as Grandma Dacres. She was Grandma to so many, including those of us who were not even family. Around the 5th line and 15 sideroad area most kids worked at the IGA store. Our parents or Grandparents would take turns picking us all up after work. Olive would bring us home and often stop and have a chat and tea with Mom. Upon leaving she would say ( now give Grandma a kiss). She would plant a kiss right on your lips and leave. I have a long running joke that i’ve kissed Olive more than some of my girlfriends. She was an affectionate lady and she showed you she loved you with a kiss. If you were one of those people, you were very fortunate. We are all saddened for the loss but we can also smile and celebrate the beautiful person that she was. We are all blessed for having her in our lives.

To all of the Dacres family,
My heart goes out to you all. Your Mom was such a huge part of my life. Some of my fondest memories were at the farm and spending time with all of you. Auntie Olive was such a strong presence and she didn’t take anything from anyone. Big or small, she would set you straight! The life lessons i learned from being on the farm are cherished. I hope you can all be at peace that she lived such a full life and had such a great family.
Love to you all. Chrissy Bowles (Rogers) XO

My sincere condolences to all my family as you grieve, celebrate the good times and say goodbye today to your mom.
I fondly remember Aunt Olive teaching me how to dance at the Blackhouse Community Center many years ago. And yes, I will never forget where she hid her cigarettes! I asked Aunt Olive, Are you not afraid Uncle Mel will smell the smoke on your breath? Oh no, she said, he smokes too!
The door was always open, the house was always busy, And you were always welcome with a cup of tea—so many positive childhood memories.
Aunt Iva and I will watch the livestream and send you all much love…..Lois
