Another pillar of Calvary Baptist is at rest after a live well lived. She may never have known the impact on the lives of all the children she helped guide and teach… but we all know. Her gentle approach, teaching and kind manners showed us all how to be better. From birthday parties, New Year’s Eve get togethers, she was a generous host. Even after knocking nearly all the crystals off the light at her doorway putting on a jacket all she would say was…. “Well…. No one has ever done that before!”. Thank you for your gentle leadership and for helping make us boys better men.

To Uncle Harold, cousins Lynne, Carol, Joy and Steven and families. Aunt Norma was a wonderfully special aunt. A gift to our family. About 65 years ago she acted as both medic and a comforter when, as the “the boys” were doing the evening milking, I was rushed to the farmhouse after severely scalding my lower arm in hot water. She was so competent in both roles. I still have the scar on my arm from that farm accident. I will miss her newsy birthday email she so faithfully sent after we left ON for “the West” late last century. Our thoughts are with you.

    Dear Harold and Family
It was always nice to meet Norma shopping, even for a brief visit and a catch up. Our friendship went back to Norma’s Mom and Dad and their involvement with Ayrshire cattle, as Dad had on our farm during our teen-aged years. Then too, we travelled to the Weston Collegiate and Vocational School with all the Nashville kids, Mary being a quiet studious one, who became such a respected teacher and community leader.
My sincere condolences with warm and respectful memories,
    Murray

Harold and your wonderful family: I am so sorry to hear of Norma’s passing. She was a lovely lady. We had such a wonderful time at those hockey games when our boys played together. Norma had a wonderful smile. So many memories!

Dear Uncle Harold & all the children, grands & great-grands,

Aunt Norma was very special. She welcomed people warmly & was able to adapt to whatever a situation called for. She was down-to-earth, but always so kind! She & Uncle Harold are an exceptional couple… they supported & really complemented one another for over 68 years…. very devoted to each other, their family, their church family, & friends. We love them dearly!

Ps 116:15 “The death of one that belongs to the Lord is dear & precious in His sight.”

    Harold and Family,
    Our love and prayers.
Norma was such an incredable friend and encourager, her emails will be missed. She loved unconditionally and welcomed us all as family. Yes, we say Gby to another pillar of Calvary, the strong women who taught, who lived out “teach the younger women to admonish,,,” she brought scripture to life in her everyday. Thank you Harold and Norma for your love and acceptance, your encouragement and always sharing Truth. You both have always lived JESUS. We love you much. Hugs, Daniel, Jeanette and family
