Mildred Bernice Tasca (nee Jackson)

September 28, 2022 By Egan Funeral Home 37 Condolences

Tasca Web

Passed peacefully in her sleep while at home on September 26, 2022 in her 89th year.  Beloved and devoted wife of Joseph Tasca, for 68 years and loving mother of  Christine, Karen, David, Donald, Lori and Lynn.  She is missed by her son-in-laws, Charles Bulmer, Donald White and Jamie Buglyo.  She was a proud and loving Nana to James, Thomas and Matthew Jennison; Kelly Bulmer and Daniel and Caraline Buglyo.  Bernice was born in York County in 1933 and is predeceased by her parents, Andrew Ewart Jackson and Edna Marguerite Stott Dibble.  She is survived by her brother, Roy Jackson and predeceased by her siblings, Doris Jackson, Jean Evans, John Jackson, Gordon Jackson and Barbara Rathwell.    Bernice was a volunteer driver for the Cancer Society (over ten years) and an active member of both the Nobleton Lioness Club and Nobleton Women’s Institute.  The Lions Walk for Dog Guides was dear to her heart and she helped to raise money for many years.  The Nobleton Community honoured Bernice and Joe for all of their community services by dedicating the Tasca Community Park in 2016.

Family and friends meant everything to mom.  She was the North Star of the family and always brought us back home.  She will be dearly missed and will remain as a treasure in our hearts and memories.  We love you mom.

The family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S. (Hwy. 50), Bolton (905-857-2213) on Friday, September 30 from one o’clock until time of funeral service in the chapel at 2 o’clock.

Interment Nobleton Cemetery.

Following the interment, a reception will be held back at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimers Society (1 800 879-4226) or the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides.

    Joe,& family
I am writing this after the funeral today. As I spoke with so many people today, so many memories came flooding back to me. I remember Hanging out at the farm as kids , we always found something to do . And you can bet we were all called in for lunch ! The first thing Joe said to me was how he remembered that I snagged Christine with a fishing hook at the cottage, after being told not to! She actually went to the hospital to have it removed .
    So many great memories
I want to say to the family , the service today was done so well and really captured who Bearnice was. The speeches by the family and the Dr. Was quite an amazing tribute.
Rest now Bernice, you’ve done a wonderful job with raising your family!❤️

My belated condolences to Joe on the passing of Bernice. What I remember most about Bernice was her generosity and great cooking. I had the good fortune of sitting at her table many a time to enjoy a very good meal. No matter what the situation, she would never send me home hungry. I’m pretty sure I gained a couple of pounds every time I came by for a meal.

Thank you Bernice and Joe for everything they did for me. You folks were great.
