
Mario Ghisalberti passed away on Monday, January 27, 2025 at the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital in Oakville after a short illness. He was born on June 27, 1933 in Zogno, Italy and came from a family of six, three boys and three girls. His three surviving sisters live in Italy. After moving to Switzerland, where he lived for more than ten years, he emigrated to Canada in 1965 and worked as a bricklayer on many of Toronto’s high-rise projects. He had a life-long interest in politics and history, and was an avid sports fan, especially soccer and Formula 1. He was passionate about cooking, wine-making, and he tended to a garden as late as this summer. He was a natural born story-teller and conversationalist. He is survived by his son Giosuè and daughter-in-law Corinne.
Visitation will be on Friday morning, January 31 at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street South (Hwy. 50) Bolton. A private funeral with friends and immediate family will follow.
