Hope Knight passed peacefully at Bethell Hospice, Inglewood on Friday, August 5, 2022, at the age of 64 years, beloved wife of Michael Dolejsi. Cherished mother of Jennifer and her husband Michael Lymer, and Joshua Knight. Proud and loving grandmother of Jack Lymer, Benjamin Lymer, and Finn Knight. Dear sister of Guida Fernandes. Predeceased by her parents Manuel and Maria Fernandes.
Hope will be remembered for her compassion, generosity, tenacity, humour and her love for her family and friends. Hope was born in Eiras, Caniço on the island of Madeira, Portugal to her parents Manuel and Maria Fernandes in 1958. Hope immigrated to Toronto, Canada with her parents and sister Guida in 1959. Maria and Manuel worked tirelessly to succeed in Canada and to provide a comfortable life for their children and grandchildren. They instilled in Hope, her drive to work hard for others and the importance of family.
Hope had the ability to care for everyone she met. She always saw the good in everyone and made it her mission to help anyone she encountered who was in need. She was always armed with her infectious smile and quick wit. She will be dearly missed by her husband Mike, whom she called her angel, and who showed unending dedication to her and her care. She was inseparable from her beloved sister Guida. She was a devoted mother to her children Jennifer and Joshua, ever present and supportive. She excelled in her role as “Voavie” to her three grandsons who she lived to spoil and cherish. She found her calling when she became a caregiver and provided compassionate care and respite to her clients and their families, many of whom became friends.
Private funeral arrangements entrusted to Egan Funeral Home, Bolton.
