It is a long while since I heard from my much loved cousin Loretta Andrew-Meltz) nee Curtis. We grew up together, her in Weston at Lilac Ave., me in Woodbridge on the farm on 8th Ave., S. and Ellerby Square for a time. Although a few years (4) difference in our ages, we were very close as cousins. I spent a great deal of time visiting with her as a young girl to get away from 7 brothers(all gone now), then in 1954 I got married and my dear cousin was my junior bridesmaid at my wedding in Jan. 1954. As time moved on nasty hurricaine hit Woodbridge Weston area, and Loretta was married on the 16 Oct., (which happens to be my birthday, but the sad note, Loretta’s wedding was following with the reception held in the lodge in Thistletown. Sure was hard for everyone, when our grandmother Annie Elizabeth Curtis was drowned in the flood of Hurricaine Hazel. Loretta, Ronnie, Myself and my late hubby were close neighbours in Woodbridge and spent lots of time together until our life started to be more mobile as my hubby was in the RCAF. Such a great cousin she was and from a wonderful family, who were so good to me over the years. Loretta my dear cousin, was just recently reminiscing looking at one of my wedding photos. Taking a break to see if I can find the one with you in it. You were beautiful then, and still. Rest in peace dear cousin. Love from June.

Dolores, you likely do not remember me, but I sure remember you as your Mom, myself and my sister-in-law Betty wheeled the three of you along 8th., Ave., in Woodbridge and down Pine Street, Those streets do doubt have different names now. Dolores, when things settle down perhaps you could send a copy of the funeral service.
Those little baby jaunts were so precious now as I look back on the 3 of us with our babies, out enjoying the sunshine.
Please send me your address. God Bless All of You.

Dear Dolores, Sharon, Joe and Family
I am deeply saddened to hear of your great loss. Loretta was a beacon for all women. who showed strength in her ability to handle it alone for many years. I shall treasure the memories of sharing family dinner gatherings and our combined trip to Florida, As room-mates, we were non-stop laughter. Great memories were created when Lorretta was involved.
May she rest in peace
