Sincere condolences to the whole family. Kirk was a wonderful student at the Humberview School and an outstanding athlete who had exceptional ability. Remembering his lovely smile and the kind person that he was.
Ed Upenieks
I first met Kirk more than a decade ago, when we were both Board members of the Headwaters Hospital Foundation. He soon became Chair of the Foundation, where he was an effective and inspiring leader.
Kirk was the first person at the gym every morning, and his intense workouts were legendary. He accomplished more before 9am than most in a full day.
Whether negotiating a new contract for Brannon Steel, cycling the hills of Caledon, golfing at his beloved Pulpit course, or community building, Kirk always gave everything he had.
Kirk was the consummate community champion, through his personal and corporate commitments, and by encouraging so many others to follow, to ensure that even the most ambitious goals were achieved.
The Kirk Brannon that I will always remember was: Strong, Tenacious, Energetic, Effervescent, and Loved by everyone.
Rest in Peace my Friend
David Gibson

Joyce,
I have had the privilege of knowing you and Kirk for a very long time. I am always thrilled when we get an opportunity to meet, even if it is not so often. Over the past year I am glad to have spent some time with Kirk. He is a strong character and remained brave through the process, and so did you. Our hearts are there for you. Cathy and I and my boys, Luke and Jacob send our deepest condolences to you and the rest of your family. Be well and take care.
Patricia Shields and Barry
Dear Joyce and Family
Barry and I send our deepest condolences. Kirk worked on our farm for many summers. He was one of the finest young men we have ever met. An extremely hard worker and was going places and he surely did. We were honoured to celebrate his marriage to you. We often heard snippets of his life and were so proud to know how successful he was. No finer man was on this earth. He is in heaven now and at peace and we all have the memories that were made with him.
Your heart may feel like it is broken in two but in time it will get easier and the memories will help to heal but never forget.
God Bless
Karen Andrews
Sending love and thinking of you all at this very sad time. Grieving is a personal journey and may your memories help with this process. Take care. Karen.

I met Kirk while working for the City of Brampton. From the first time I met him he was open and very supportive of our work as well as being very generous with his time. It was always a pleasure working with Kirk and getting to know him outside of work.
It’s been a few years since I changed jobs and lost contact with Kirk but I’ll always remember him as one of my favourite people to have worked with at that time.
All the best to Kirk’s family and friends. My deepest condolences and truly so sorry for your loss.
David Kay
I am so saddened at Kirk’s passing. I coached Kirk throughout his high school years at Humberview. Kirk was an integral part of the football, wrestling and rugby programs, always leading by example and commitment. He was absolutely one of the most dedicated and talented athletes I have had the pleasure of coaching, and that spans my 42 years of coaching and teaching! A very fine young man in all respects.
I did have the privilege of chatting to Kirk on the phone recently in the late Fall, as I had heard of his diagnosis. A warm, upbeat, memorable call.
My sincere condolences to Kirk’s family. His loss is immense to all who knew him. Rest in Peace, Kirk.
Mike Morse
Kirk and I served together on the board of directors for North American Steel Alliance. Kirk had so much knowledge and nuanced insight for our industry. I’m sure this is what made him a successful force for Brannon Steel. First day, first board meeting, I was learning from him about how to improve our business. What I appreciated even more about Kirk was his relational side. His smile and laugh were inviting. He immediately was talking about family and friendships. I met Joyce only once, but he spoke of Joyce and his daughter often. He made priorities of the right stuff in his life.
I’m sorry for your loss of this wonderful man. My prayers for Joyce, Rachelle, and the rest of the family,
Sincerely,
Mike Morse

My very first business visit with the City of Brampton’s Economic Development team was back in 2018 at Brannon Steel and we were welcomed by Kirk – such a kind and passionate individual. He spoke highly about the team at Brannon, the work and was always open and willing to share ideas and support workforce development.
It is with profound sadness that we learned of his passing – he was a visionary leader whose integrity left an indelible mark not only on Brannon Steel but on the City of Brampton.
Please know our thoughts are with all of you. We hope his family finds comfort in the enduring legacy Kirk has left behind and in the strength of the community he helped build.

Geez where do I begin about our time spent with Kirk & Joyce over the years. From street parties, trips, Halloween get togethers and all the many hikes together, time spent with Kirk was always a fun time. He sure knew how to enjoy life and that became more evident after his diagnosis.
Kirk certainly gave it his all over the past 18 months and took every opportunity to spend it traveling and hanging out with friends and family. He didn’t allow his diagnosis to slow him down and that to me was so admirable.
It definitely takes a special someone like Joyce to have kept up with such a vibrant person like Kirk who took everything opportunity to be involved with so many different things.
Both Scott and I will always remember the great times we had with Kirk and he will be missed but not forgotten.
Cheers to you Kirk!
