Jonathan Pippy

December 23, 2025 By Egan Funeral Home 20 Condolences

Pippy Webframe

With deep love and gratitude, we remember Jonathan, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and man of faith whose life was rooted in service, integrity, and love. He passed peacefully, on Saturday, December 20, 2025, with his family at his side, surrounded by the people he loved most.

As an elder in his church, Jonathan faithfully walked alongside others, offering counsel, guidance, and compassion to those in need. He lived his faith not only in words but also in consistent action, showing care, generosity, and humility in all that he did.

Above all else, Jonathan put his family first. His wife and daughters were the center of his world, and he loved them with unwavering commitment and devotion. He was an honourable man who believed deeply in commitment to God, to family, and to living a life of purpose.

He leaves behind a lasting legacy of faith, service, and love, one that will continue to live on through his family, the church he served, and the many lives he touched through his kindness and steady presence.

He is survived by his wife Eileen, three daughters Tracy (Brad), Esther (Scott) and Deanna, along with his six grandchildren, Erin, Tyler, Lauren, Tristan, Taylor and Torrens.  Dear brother of Terry.

The family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen St. S. (Hwy. 50), Bolton (905-857-2213) on Friday, January 2, 2026 from 10 o’clock until time of memorial service in the chapel at 11 o’clock.  Reception to follow at the funeral home.

We are so grateful to Mr. Pippy for being MC at our wedding and also for performing my father’s funeral just a few short years ago.

    Eileen and family,
Although we only met John once at Scott and Esther’s wedding it was very apparent that he was a lovely man who was very proud of his entire family. We enjoyed our conversation with John very much and are sad that we didn’t have opportunities for more chats.
Sending prayers and love to you all,
Mark and Kim Koenig (Scott’s sister)

He gave the best advice and was loving to my family. We are blessed to have been a part of his life as he cared sooo deeply for the all the brethren he served. He will be truly missed! We await the kingdom!

J.P always had a smile and was ready to laugh when i jokingly bantered back and forth with him…in response, he liked to put on a ‘straight face’ pretending not to be enthused, but it didn’t last long as he could not hold back his laughter…Mr. P was a gentle and sincere individual, and he often asked about how my kids were and was sincerely interested in their growth into adulthood…we have many fond memories of him at feasts and holy day dinners over the years…he will surely be missed…he left behind a wonderful family — hugs to you Eileen.

John was someone I considered both a good friend and a very wise mentor. He was always so thoughtful and caring of others and a true servant to so many. We have so many fond memories of our times spent with John and Eileen and your family. May your love for John and all your wonderful memories of him help sustain you at this very difficult time. It is never easy losing a loved one and especially a loving spouse and a loving parent/father.
Sorry we can not be there tomorrow as we are living in Ottawa now and our grandchildren are coming to visit from the U.S, later today. Our sincere condolences. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

It has taken me a while to write this, because of the emotions and memories that have surfaced over the past few days.

Growing up, my sister and I were blessed to spend much of our childhood and teen years with Tracy and Esther. Although we moved from Canada when we were only 12, the friendship we shared with the Pippy family became one of the most formative memories of our lives. We were close friends with Tracy and Esther, and their home was a place of safety, laughter, and adventure.

To us, John was “Uncle John,” and he treated us like family. We spent countless sleepovers with Tracy and Esther at John and Eileen’s house, and endless summer days on the homemade wooden pontoon raft in the pond—convinced we could clear every inch of seaweed to make our own swimming pool. John only laughed good-naturedly at our efforts.

Some of our happiest childhood days were spent camping on Georgian Bay—sleeping under the stars, and once discovering a natural stone water slide into the lake (and I think one of us may have pushed Seana in first so the parents would let all of us give it a try), burning Jiffy Pop over the open fire (Auntie Eileen), and fishing until one of us got our finger pricked by the hooks – I think that was me on Tracy’s hook. We hiked all over Ontario with the Pippys—my sister, my dad, and I—surrounded by love, laughter, and the kind of friendship that stays with you for a lifetime.

It brings sadness to see my dear friends Tracy and Esther grieving the loss of their dad, and to see Auntie Eileen faced with the painful separation that comes with saying goodbye. But I also hold deep hope in knowing that this is not the end. I believe that one day we will see my dad and Uncle John again, and I smile at the thought that my Irish Dad and Scottish Auntie Eileen will once more sit with John in God’s kingdom—sharing a Drambuie and a Glenfiddich, just as they would have here.

With love, gratitude, and honor for a man who shaped so many lives through his faith, kindness, and steady presence. May his memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved him. My love to Auntie Eileen, Tracy, Esther and Deanna
