Liz, Carol and Elaine, I’m so sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. Feel comforted in knowing her courageous battle with cancer is over, and she’s resting peacefully now.

I will miss her, and she’s with your dad now. I’m sure the both of them are making beautiful old time fiddle music together.

I have very fond memories of the times I spent with them at their home in Bolton. Her face always lit up when she laughed. Your mom helped me appreciate what being a strong woman is all about, because that’s exactly what she was. Her borscht soup was second to none, and I’ll always feel grateful to have had those experiences with them. Rest in peace Irene.

Take care, with much love, Marsha Wakabayashi

Well, Liz, it has been a long tough time all round but no one could have done more for her in her final stuggle and at last she is at peace.

She will have known that her main contribution in this life was the care and upbringing of her daughters who forge ahead with their lives. You are her immortality.

You never stop missing love ones but time makes the grief more bearable.

    Dear Carol, Elaine and Elizabeth,
When Kiki called to tell me about the loss of your mother, I felt so deeply saddened. I remember hearing about all the good times my mom had with your parents so many years ago. My mom always talked about her great times and lots of laughs with Irene. Although distance has been a big factor in our lives, you have always been in our hearts. February 15, 2011 at 12:34 pm

    Dear Liz and family,
I’m so sorry for your loss and wish I could be there for you during this very difficult time, like you have been there for me and my family.

I would like to share with you some words that I found comforting during hard times like these:

    Psalms 23

Jehovah is my Shepherd. I shall lack nothing.
In grassy pastures he makes me lie down; By well-watered resting-places he conducts me.
    My soul he refreshes.
Even though I walk in the valley of the shadow of death,
    I fear no evil,
    For you are with me.

    Love

    Trudy, Austin, Peter

    Dear Carol,
What I am feeling now is hard to put into words. Please accept my profound and deepest sympathy on the passing of your mom. She was a very strong and courageous woman. The times that I met your mom, she was always a very happy and caring person. It was always nice to see her at your cottage, Carol. I remember her and those good times. She treated me like family and made me feel at home and comfortable. I will fondly remember her as the great person that she was.
Always remember and cherish the beautiful memories that you have of your mom.
My love and support will always be here for you.

    Hello Carol-Ann,

I am so sorry to hear you lost your Mother. There aren’t very many of the original families left in Wildfield. But you are fortunate to have your sisters to help keep her memory alive.

It is May now, and I just heard the news from Gerd. He lives in BC. I told Bredge too, she lives in Port Perry, Ontario.

I think of you often. Kate
