Our heartfelt condolences we send to the family of Dr. Ames. We were shocked & saddened to have heard of his sudden passing. Such a loss, he was an amazng man. One of the most patient doctors, who spoke to everyone like a friend. Didnt matter how late in the day it was, he’d let you talk about your health concerns & anything else, as long as you needed to. He spoke highly of his wife & kids, & his father, he’d take the time to take care of, no matter how busy he was. He will be so missed. May he rest in peace.

Our deepest condolences to Dr. Ames’s Family, Friends and staff. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. I would just like to say, he was our family doctor for over 25 years and I know he will be truly missed by so many. This one hurt a lot. There are so many stories I can share but I will just share one. He delivered both my babies and made me feel so safe and listened. I remember all the times we would go see him with our kids who were very big on sports and he had such admiration for kids who took sports so seriously, he truly cared. He would tell them exactly what they had to eat and stay away from. There will never be another like him. He will be in our hearts forever.
    RIP Dr. Robert Ames..

My staff and I were deeply saddened when we heard from one of Dr. Ames’ long-time patients that he had passed away. Dr. Ames has sent many of his patients to me over the years, and with all the letters we have written and faxed to one another, we were practically pen pals for the past 12 years. Dr. Ames was a wonderful physician, and his patients often tell me how much they appreciated the care he provided to them.

Rest in peace, my pen pal. I will always miss writing to you.

My deepest sympathies to Dr. A’s family.

    Sincerely,
    Dr. Kim Tran

To repeat a favourite request from Bob….”…I need a favour…”

I was in complete shock when I heard this very sad news. This pain cut deep for me. Dr. Ames has been my doctor for almost 30 years. He delivered my oldest son when I was just 18 years old and uncertain as to what the future held for me and my baby. He then continued to be mine and my 2 children’s doctor all these years. When it came to mine and my children’s health he was thorough and he really cared. I completely trusted him and I could tell him anything and he always gave me the best and most honest advice. I will never forget when my father was sick with cancer and could no longer make it in to his office, Dr. Ames drove all the way up to Shelburne to see my father and even gave me his personal cell phone number incase my father needed anything. That was the kind of Doctor he was. He was a great man and he will be greatly missed!

Dr. Ames may you rest in peace
My deepest condolences to his family and also to anyone that is feeling the sorrow of his lose

I first met Dr. Ames when I moved to Bolton and became pregnant. I was looking for a doctor close by. He told me he was the only gig in town and so Dr. Ames became my doctor. During my pregnancy and as he came to know me, he realized I was a little anxious, so he gave me his personal pager # just in case I needed to reach him. My first thought was this is a doctor who really cares and I was right.

28 years later, I can honestly say Dr. Ames was a very compassionate, caring, empathetic and kind doctor who I believe sacrificed a lot to provide the level of care he so wanted to give. I am truly thankful & grateful to have had such a good doctor, I will miss him.

I am also grateful to his wife and family for the sacrifices they made so to allow Dr. Ames to serve and be the best doctor he can be. My sincere condolences to you all and I pray that God will help you during this most difficult time.

Rest in Peace Dr. Ames and may God grant you internal Rest

I first met Dr. Ames when he was delivering our first grandchild. He came out smiling and confident, We were reassured that all was well and everything went perfectly. There was a time when all doctors delivered babies, but today it is rare. Rushing to the hospital at 2 A.M., constant updating and testing as well as exorbitant insurance rates, have caused most doctors to leave it to the specialists. Dr. Ames found it one of the most rewarding parts of his career as a family physician and he will be greatly missed. Ken and Christina Graham

Words cannot express how deeply saddened I was to hear of Dr. Ames’ passing. For over 24 years, Dr. Ames was not only my physician, but someone I trusted and respected greatly. He had a special way of listening and understanding his patients. He was present for the birth of my children and always went above and beyond to make sure he offered the best care. His kindness, compassion, and dedication made him one of a kind.

To his family, please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. Doctor Ames’s legacy of care and humanity will never be forgotten. He will be remembered as a compassionate, caring, and gentle man. I will miss him dearly. May he Rest in Eternal Peace.

Dr. Ames was the doctor who gave me the confidence to believe I could do anything. Alongside Tammy, he supported me—a brown girl from Trinidad—in achieving milestones I never imagined, from helping me start the first blood work clinic at the Brampton office, to expanding into Bolton, and later Milton with another doctor he mentored.

Dr. Ames always stood by the underdog. The care and compassion he showed his patients were unmatched. No one ever minded waiting for him, because the moment they saw his face, their worries seemed to fade away.

I just want to share how incredible he was not only as a doctor, but as a teacher and mentor. He is, without a doubt, the best doctor I have ever known.

You will be deeply missed. Rest in peace, Dr. Ames.

It is with great sadness that I pay my respects to a man that was the physician to my father, my brother & I. Dr. Ames was a friend and colleague for more than 30 years. I know that the world is that much poorer for the loss of such a kind man. He was the salt of the earth, compassionate, and truly an old-time specialist at serving his patients. Each day that passes I pray that God has rewarding Dr. Ames for the many people who he helped right up until the end. Respect to you my brother. May God bless and keep you until we see each other again… Matthew Pitter
