Paul Pfundt, 93, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, with his beloved wife, Roberta, and family by his side.
Born in Budaörs, Hungary, Paul carried with him a deep sense of determination, resilience, and loyalty throughout his life. A lifelong horseman, he took great pride in the hobby farm he built with Roberta and in breeding thoroughbred racehorses. Family was always at the centre of his life, and he was known for his generosity, larger than life personality, and unforgettable sense of humour, which brought laughter and joy to all who knew him.
Paul married the love of his life, Roberta. Together they built a life rooted in family, loyalty, and enduring love. Their story was one of unwavering devotion, partnership, and laughter, built through nearly 70 years of standing beside one another through every season of life.
He was a devoted father to Katharina and her partner, David, and to Robert and his wife, Natalie. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Amanda and her husband, Drew; Michael and his wife, Samantha; Jonathan; and Kathryn. He was also a cherished great grandfather to Connor and Mason, who brought him immense joy.
Paul was predeceased by his brothers, Adalbert, Andreas, and Matthias, and by his parents, Andreas and Katharina.
Paul will be remembered for his strength, kindness, unforgettable sense of humour, and the deep love he held for his family. His legacy lives on in the values he passed down, the laughter he shared, and the many lives he touched.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
The family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street South (Hwy 50), Bolton (905-857-2213) on Wednesday from 4 to 7 o’clock.
Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Thursday morning, June 4 at 11 o’clock.
Interment Caledon East Public Cemetery.

I will remember every wonderful thing about Uncle Paul, but the two things that wash over me, as I write this, are his generosity and his curiosity.
From a very young age (and because he had so many animals on the farm), Uncle Paul would always randomly say to me: “….do you want a cat ?”, or “….do you want a dog ?”, or, my personal favourite “…..do you want a horse ?!” If I was not living in a subdivision for most of that time, and out of the house for about 12+ hours most days, I may well have taken him up on any of those beautiful animals !
As for his curiosity, I always enjoyed telling him a story and then waiting to hear him say “….you’re kidding !” I can still hear him saying it now (in his distinctive, deep, uncle Paul voice) and, I will continue to hear his voice in anyone who may say it to me in the future.
He was a part of my life, since my beginning, and I will cherish the memories and love him forever.
Aunt Roberta, Rob and Kathy….hold each other, and your families, tight over this next period and take comfort in the fact that he is still watching over all of you.

Dear Aunt Roberta, Kathy + David , Rob + Natalie and your families,
We were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of our great uncle Paul. He was a truly kind and generous man who always made family feel welcome.
One of my fondest memories is visiting Uncle Paul and Aunt Roberta in Florida. They welcomed me + my daughter Katie, into their home with open arms. Paul’s generosity extended far beyond his hospitality. He trusted me to use one of their vehicles while I was visiting, and he always made sure we felt comfortable and cared for. During that visits I also learned how to play Skibo with Paul, Aunt Roberta, and their neighbours—times filled with laughter, friendship, and wonderful memories that I will always treasure.
Paul loved his animals, especially his horses, and he always enjoyed having my kids come out to see them. His love for animals was something we shared, and it was easy to see how much joy they brought him.
We will miss him dearly, but we are grateful for the memories, the laughter, and the kindness he shared so freely. Our thoughts and prayers are with Aunt Roberta and all who loved him.
Rest in peace, Uncle Paul. You will never be forgotten.

We are so very heartbroken to hear about uncle Paul’s passing. It’s truly the end of an era – all my memories growing up were of family gatherings, and at those family gatherings – we shared laughs and meals with you all. Uncle Paul was always quick with a joke and a wink. He always made sure you were looked after, and generous with his time.

In the very early 1960’s Paul and Roberta Pfundt built their lovely home on the Gore Road across from our dairy farm.
They along with their little girl Kathy and later Robbie made the old one room schoolhouse property their forever home.
They were the best neighbours you could imagine for over 40 years till my parents passed and John and Jackie moved to Bolton
