Peacefully at Bethell Hospice, Inglewood, Zlata Babic, in her 62nd year, surrounded by her loving family. Loving daughter of Mirko (deceased) and Ljubica Muraja. Dear mother of Marija and her husband Frank Accardo. Cherished grandmother of Brianna and Vanessa Accardo. She will fondly be remembered by her aunt Mary Hribar and family, and the rest of her family and friends in Croatia and Canada.
The family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street South (Hwy. 50), Bolton (905-857-2213) on Wednesday afternoon, July 16 from one o’clock until time of funeral service in the chapel at 2 o’clock. Followed by cremation. Following the service, a reception will be held at the funeral home.

I cannot express how saddened I am to hear that our long time family friend passed away. “Goldie” was what we knew her by, was always so good to our family and treated my sisters and I as though we were one of her own. I still remember walking into her place and smelling the food she was cooking and always offered to us. She loved to smile, laugh, and often gave us all that motherly lecture we needed being misbehaved kids. She was kind and generous and I cannot imagine my childhood memories without her in them. I was so saddened to hear of your mom’s passing. She was always “Goldie” to us and she sure did have a heart of gold. I have so many great memories of her – her big laugh, her generosity and her moonshine. I learned how to swear in Croatian from her;) Her accent and how she would say “I’m going to teach you your license!” when you misbehaved. She always made me laugh.
Marija, your mom is proud of you for being there for her until the end. And she will live on in your hearts and in the hearts of your daughters. A beautiful soul leaves a trail of beautiful memories.

Even up until my visit with her in the hospital she had such a good attitude and found only the positive in her situation.
