Joan

Peacefully, in the presence of her family, at Etobicoke General Hospital, after a courageous fight with cancer on Thursday, April 17, 2014, Joan Victoria Huggins, Bolton, in her 69th year, beloved wife of Mark Huggins.  Loving mother of Jill and her husband Dave Malinauskas, and Laura Huggins.  Cherished grandmother of Jenna and Jacob.  Dear sister of Norman and Keith Webb.  Fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews.  The family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S. (Hwy. 50), Bolton (905-857-2213) for memorial visitation on Monday afternoon 2-4 and evening 7-9 o’clock and on Tuesday, April 22 at Caven Presbyterian Church, 110 King Street West, Bolton from one o’clock until time of memorial service at 2 o’clock.  Interment of cremated remains to follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Bolton.  If desired, memorial donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society or Etobicoke General Hospital, c/o William Osler Health System Foundation, 2100 Bovaird Drive East, Brampton L6R 3J7.  Condolences for the family may be offered at www.EganFuneralHome.com

    I was saddened to read of Joan’s death. She was such a happy sincere individual. Although I haven’t seen Joan for a few years I will always remember our good times involved with guiding and other volunteer work in the community around our children. Joan had so many friends all over town.

    Mark and family -we were shocked to hear of Joan’s passing. I was checking condolences for Catherine and saw it. We are so sorry for your loss of such a great person and friend. We have so many good memories of past events with Joan. John especially remembers with great fondness the years he was in the Caledon Community Singers of which she was the leader. He has missed you both and now misses the choir as we have moved to Richmond Hill to be near family. |Again, we are sorry for your great loss.     Please accept our most sincere condolences on Joan’s passing. She was a lovely lady and a wonderful person with an ever present happy disposition. Her warm smile and friendly manner will be remembered by many for years to come. Our daughters recall her being the best Girl Guide leader in Bolton with a great progam for them to enjoy each week.     Dear Huggins Family,
    So sorry to hear of Joan’s passing. I knew Joan many years ago through Guiding and remember her as a warm, hard working woman with a wonderful sense of humour, who gave much of herself for the young girls of our community. Our family also enjoyed many Caledon Community Singers concerts at Christmas time where Joan shared another one of her amazing gifts with all of us. Caledon has lost a very special person. She will be missed.

    I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Joan. She was my Pathfinder and then Ranger leader in Bolton for several years. She even inspired me to become a Guide Leader. I will remember her as a very considerate person who always wanted to help others. My thoughts are with her family.

    I am so sorry to hear of your very sad news and want you to know that you are in my thoughts. I worked (volunteered) with Joan when you, Jill and Laura were at James Bolton School. I Also learned the fine art of bowling and had very happy times with a wonderful group of your mom’s friends. I know she will be missed as she was a very special, caring Lady with a huge smile. You must have many, many, happy memories to share with yourselves and your families.
