Wish we could be there on Saturday for you Sheila, David, Rick and extended family. The phone will have to do. I was so sad to hear about Uncle Tom. I still hear him addressing me as “Rough Rider Sue” all those years ago when in my teens. In my photo album I also have the grocery bill he gave me at my wedding 31 years ago. I tell you, I laugh so hard when I see that. Our families have had some great times over the years. I will miss him alot but will think of all those special times and those will put a smile on my face. Dad, Pat and I will surely be thinking about him, you and the family lots on Saturday morning. Take care of each other.
    Love you all,
    Sue

Tom was one of the most elegant, understatedly dignified men I have ever had the priviledge to know. I remember him so well from my many years with the Town of Caledon Public Works Department. His ready smile, and soft-spoken nature endeared him to absolutely everyone. He was one of a kind and he was pure class. To his family, I send my deepest condolences in what I know must be a terrible loss. The world is a better place, because he was a part of it, and I will treasure his memory always, and keep him safe in my heart.

I am a better person because of his love. I hope everyone who knew him can find fond memories to keep him close forever. Pat

To someone very special who touched my soul. Growing up without a father figure was something that felt just normal in my preteen years. When i met Tom and Sheila on a ball field at Alton in September 1969 i knew then that these people were very special. In a way i think we do get to chose out family’s. Of course we have the family we”re given, but if we are really lucky, we also have the people in our lives who care about us so genuinely and personally we consider them family. I will miss my dear friend Tom a man whom i so sincerely respect. A man of many talents in music, sports and in life. I will remember his quick dry wit. The last three hours i spent with him in November and the happiness i shared with him that day with always be etched forever in my mind like a tattoo. As soon as he seen me that day he looked at me and said,” they must be feeding you well in Nova Scotia Sandy.” We both laughed for at least five minutes. That was Tom. My sincere condolences to you Sheila,Rick ,David, all extended family and all his friends who will miss him also.

Tom Lundy and I grew up together, went to school together, skied together, hunted together, and played lacrosse together for years. The Lundy’s were a refined family, and I don’t even recall hearing Tom swear! In the winter we would pick-up Tom and Melvin in our sleigh enroute to Caledon School. I recall one morning Tom came out the lane and their was no sign of Melvin. When I asked why he was first, Tom said, “I washed my face last night.” Tom was a character. I recall later in life he became an accomplished Old Tyme fiddler, fiddling with a group of long-time Caledon natives. Along with Sheila and the boys, I’m sure Tom lived a good and enjoyable life.

My condolences on the loss of Tom.

    Cecil Chambers, Erin

  19. Melvin Lundy

    December 16, 2012 at 12:34 am

I was remembering the last time I saw Tom when he travelled West to Edmonton for Cathleen’s wedding. Then Tom, Sheila, Lot, Chris and I drove back together to Victoria where we enjoyed good times catching up. I am so very grateful he made that trip and I had that time with him! I always enjoyed our many conversations over the phone as we lived so far apart. He was the best brother and I will miss him a great deal. I have many fond memories since childhood that I will cherish always.
My thoughts are with you Sheila, David, Rick and extended family.
    With much love,
    Melvin
