I am saddened to hear the news of Dr. McKenzie’s passing. She was a wonderful person and optometrist. She always had a smile for her patients. My Mom and I were both her patients ever since we came to Caledon many years ago. When Mom was diagnosed with dementia she was not the easiest patient to deal with. Dr. McKenzie took it in stride. It didn’t hurt that Mom really liked Dr. McKenzie. When Mom passed away on Christmas Eve 7 years ago, Dr. McKenzie and staff sent our family a card of condolence. It was much appreciated. My deepest condolences to her family. God Bless.

Our deepest condolences to the family of Dr. McKenzie. Many years ago when a vision issue threatened to permanently remove a driving license that provided family income, Dr. McKenzie ‘went to battle’ for the case writing letters, referring to her colleagues within her profession and ultimately supporting until there was a positive outcome. Such commitment to her patients and profession as to the beautiful family she spoke about during appointments. She will be forever remembered.

Dear Vince, Martine, Olivia and Kate,
It has taken me some time to find the strength to write this. My heart aches alongside yours as we say goodbye to Michelle, such a dear and treasured friend. Michelle’s inspiring, gentle spirit—always smiling, always helpful—was a gift to everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her light will never dim or fade; it shines on in the love she gave so freely and the countless cherished memories we hold close.
Those we love never truly leave us. Michelle’s kindness, laughter, and unwavering strength will always be a part of us, reminding us of her incredible courage and the way she touched our lives so deeply. Grief, as painful as it is, is the price we pay for love—a reflection of just how much she meant to us and how deeply she is missed.
Every time I think of Michelle, I will see her smile, hear her laugh, and feel her warmth, as if she is right here. I hope that, in time, those memories will bring you as much comfort as they do me.
Please know I am holding you all in my heart, sending you love and strength during this tender time. If there’s anything you need or any way I can support you, I’m here.
