Passed peacefully at Stevenson Memorial Hospital, on Friday, August 7, 2026, Albert Guhl, at the age of 97 years, beloved husband for 64 years of Josephine (née Kolb). Loving father of Andrew and his wife Karen, Rosemarie and her husband Mark Humphries. Proud grandfather of Emily and her husband Andrew Evraire, Stephanie and her husband Matt Campanella, Evan and his wife Carolina Humphries, and Faye Humphries.
The family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen St. S. (Hwy. 50), Bolton (905-857-2213) on Wednesday afternoon 1 – 3 o’clock and evening 6 – 8 o’clock. Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, 60 Allan Drive, Bolton on Thursday morning, August 13 at 11 o’clock. Interment St. John’s Cemetery, 16066 The Gore Road, Caledon.

I spent many day helping in the bush ” Making Wood.” As Andy was in bed sleeping off, whatever we consumed the night before.
I enjoyed asking Albert about his Hair stick-ups and his reply would be ” Who wound your clock” .
Albert will be forever missed by all that knew him.

I called him”Uncle Albert”….not by blood or marriage but through my bond of friendship with the Delaney/Kolb families. And as my patient , for over 40 years, Albert always came in with a special story,told with a chuckle and often with a bag of fresh vegetables, harvested from his enormous vegetable garden!
And could that man crochet! -” Uncle Albert” blessed me with one of his creations… the biggest “doily” you could imagine- it was at least 2 feet in diameter! (I had a round glass table on which this was proudly displayed.)
So Albert- keep those magic hands of yours busy up there- the angels will thank-you!

I first became acquainted with Josie when she worked at The Davis Centre and I was a new volunteer and also new to Caledon. Josie befriended me and when I began working with Caledon Meals on Wheels, Josie always promised me that when she retired, her and Albert would volunteer to deliver meals. True to her word, Josie and Albert became dedicated volunteers and continued to deliver meals for many years thereafter. They were amazing volunteers, not only providing a meal, but offering care and friendship to each and every client they visited, which also included summer treats from Albert’s ‘famous’ garden. In the spirit of true friendship, they remained friends with many of the clients even after their retirement. As to myself, I am a serious ‘doily person’, so I treasure all the doilies that Albert bestowed upon me and that are scattered throughout my home and will always bring a smile and touch my heart when they come into view. Albert and my husband Larry also bonded on many levels, but especially with their ‘fascination’ with Stormy Kromer hats which they both proudly wore. So many wonderful memories of Albert who was a gentle, beautiful man and friend who will be greatly missed. We extend our hearts and prayers to all his family.

Family of Albert. I, Wayne McCulloch send my condolences on his passing. I am a nephew of Beryle Kolb. My mother was her sister. Back in 1973 or 74, I purchased a harvest dining room table that had been ignored for years. I started to remove the layers of dirt, polish, etc. It was a slow process. Albert heard about it and was curious. He was impressed with the details on the legs, etc on the table. He offered to help me as he generously saw I was working too slow. He finished the work on the table- it is a beautiful and functional table. I still have it.
I salute the generosity and kindness of Albert in this situation and many more. Albert cared for people.
He is added to my list of souls in my daily prayers.
