Died after a lengthy illness, at York Central Hospital, Richmond Hill on Friday, September 5, 2003, after a courageous fight for life, beloved husband of Gladys Agnes Armstrong for 62 years. ﾠLoving father of Lynda and William Tomlinson. ﾠCherished grandfather of Carol and Bradley Frangakis, Susan and David Hutchinson, Janet and Bradley Weatherill. ﾠDevoted great-grandfather of Chanel and Savanna Frangakis; Adam, Britney, Cassidy and Jenna Hutchinson; Tyler, Cameron and Jamie Weatherill. ﾠAll of the family reside in Barrie. ﾠPredeceased by his parents Herman Charles and Cora Irene Kaake, his sisters Dorothy and Mary. ﾠAdored uncle of Mark and Judy Clearihue, Heather and Brian Delahunt, Jill and John Le Guen. ﾠDear great-uncle of Ryan and Sean Clearihue; Christopher, Shawn and Scott Delahunt; Christopher and Jeremy Le Guen. ﾠDonald was born on May 1, 1916 in Nobleton, married Gladys Armstrong on October 4, 1941. ﾠOwner of the Nobleton General Store from 1949-1973 when they retired in Nobleton. ﾠDonald enjoyed his work with the Nobleton Lions Club and working around their house. ﾠHis love of being a collector and a Mr. Fix-It carried on his whole life. ﾠThe family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S. (Hwy. 50), Bolton (905-857-2213) Monday afternoon 2 – 4 and evening 7 – 9 o’clock. ﾠFuneral service will be held in the chapel on Tuesday morning, September 9 at 11 o’clock. ﾠInterment family plot Laurel Hill Cemetery, Botlon. ﾠIf desired, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. ﾠCondolences for the family may be offered at www.eganfuneralhome.com
