To the Leger clan, my absolute deepest sympathy for the loss of Gary.
Knew him as my best childhood buddy Kevin’s Dad, always ready to help with a project (like fixing the hockey nets we were constantly breaking) and give up crap (deservedly) when we were doing dumb things…
The world lost a great man. He will be missed. ❤️

Susan, Kevin, Karen, Kathryn, Karla, Matthew, Jessica & families – you had the very best husband, father, grandpa, uncle and father-in-law in Gary and he will be missed so very greatly. But I know he is now with God in Heaven and we will see him again soon. Until then we will honour his memory and the legacy he left us. Until we meet again Gary – thank you for everything. I first met Gary when he came to our building as a sub-contractor for a “bigger firm” several years ago.
We had repairs to be done to our air system, and of course the bigger firm wanted to do this, and that, in order to fix our issues.
In the middle of our talks, Gary looked at me (secretly), and shook his head. With that, Gary slipped me his business card, and that was the beginning of years of friendship and trust between us.
With Gary’s work in the building, and his guidance on various issues, the air system for our tenants improved beyond our expectations. He reduced our operating costs in all aspects of the air system.
There were a few times when Gary didn’t charge us for his work. That meant going next door and buying him lunch at Swiss Chalet. We would sit there, probably longer than needed, joking & laughing about different things not associated with work. I’m missing those days already.
Gary was a “one of a kind” person. I haven’t met anyone that could meet his standards as far as business, nor as an individual is concerned.
There are some out there who weren’t fortunate enough to know, or to work with him, and that is a huge loss to them.
I could go on more about Gary, but there probably isn’t enough space on this site to brag about him.
It was my honor to be able to know & work with you Gary. I shall do my best to carry on the teachings you gave me, and hopefully pass them down to a younger person some day.
To Gary’s family, you have my deepest condolences on your loss, and hope that time will help you with the void you that you’re all are feeling at this time.
Take care of each other.
