Elizabeth Eva Lemon

March 16, 2026 By Egan Funeral Home 34 Condolences

Lemon Web Photo

Peacefully passed away, surrounded by her loving family, at Maple Grove Care Community, Brampton, on Saturday, March 14, 2026, Elizabeth Lemon, at the age of 100 years, beloved wife of the late Lloyd Lemon.  Loving mother of Dale (deceased), Leta and her husband Kenneth Chamberlain.  Cherished grandmother of Afton Chamberlain and her husband Bryan Crocker, and David Chamberlain.  Proud great-grandmother of Brianna, Danika, and Dylan.  Dear sister of Mary and her husband Frank (both deceased), Julie and her husband Harry (both deceased), John (deceased) and his wife Hilda, Stanley and his wife Marion (both deceased) and sadly missed by her nieces and nephews in the west.  “Lemon” will be fondly remembered by the Clarke family and many relatives and friends.

Elizabeth will be remembered not only as a loving mom, grandmother and great-grandmother but also as a wonderful friend.  Elizabeth’s sense of humour was infectious.  She worked hard to help provide for her family and she never judged anyone.  At her 100th birthday party this was quite prevalent as to how many people came to give best wishes – she was the princess that day.  Elizabeth loved speaking to everyone from her past and present.  She will be dearly missed.

Honouring Elizabeth’s wishes, cremation has taken place.

“To teach is to touch a life forever”
Elizabeth (Beth) typified this quote throughout her life. In her youth she was an elementary teacher in the Bolton area. One of her former students attended her 100th birthday celebration. Elizabeth continued to work and to teach as she raised her family and participated in the community.
Beth always greeted folks with a warm smile and a loving hug. We treasure those memories of the visits and the many detailed stories she recounted of her youth in Saskatchewan. Over the years, Beth would send us many hand written notes of “thanks”. Her penmanship remained remarkable and so beautiful, typical of the school teacher she always was.
Everyone always enjoyed her humerous quips. At her 100th birthday, celebrated so recently at Leta and Ken’s home, she greeted the guests. When there was space in the line up, I went and sat beside her and we looked over the room full of guests and the party atmosphere. I remarked at a wonderful turn out there was of guests. Very quickly Beth replied, “Oh they didn’t come to see me, they came for the food,” and we both laughed, enjoying her usual quick-witted quip.
To Ken, Leta and family we offer our sincere condolences. Elizabeth touched the lives of so many people and she will be missed…
With our love Nancy, Glen, Jim, Cindy and Jonathan

Aunt Beth was a whirlwind of joy and energy during her visits. I can still picture her skipping rope in the backyard, her laughter inviting us into her playful spirit. Climbing stairs was an adventure for her, always accompanied by stories and laughter.
With my dad I appreciated how she nurtured him, knowing that she was like a mother when they were young, continuing that warmth through calls and letters to my dad and our family. She had a unique ability to make everyone feel like family. Conversations with her were joyful and wise, reminding us not to take life too seriously. Reflecting on her life, I can envision joyous reunions in the afterlife, where Aunt Beth, my dad, and their siblings gather to share stories and laughter once more.
Aunt Beth’s spirit lives on in all who knew her. Her legacy of kindness, joy, and authenticity will continue to inspire us to embrace laughter and to be kind to all.
Our condolences Leta to you and your family Aunt Beth will be missed.

    Leta, Ken and family,
We are so very sorry for your loss. Aunt Beth was an absolute gem. We enjoyed every visit with her, and she always made everyone feel loved and seen. It was an honour to have her in our lives. Her legacy will remain with us always.

    Leta, Ken, and Family,
We are so very sorry for your loss. I will never forget the day of Mom’s wedding, when Corey spent the entire day escorting Julie and Beth. I remember thinking that if spending a day with those two matriarchs didn’t scare him away, he was truly a keeper. She certainly made him feel welcomed into the Izsak family.
Joking aside, she will be dearly missed by so many.

What a remarkable lady! I can remember when Leta and Ken moved next door to us when they were starting out, Beth and Lloyd were often there to help them set up their new house. Add Peter Clarke, across the road and you have a great neighbourhood. Beth reminds me of my own mother, being non judgemental and one who sees the good in everyone. Beth must have been a wonderful teacher bringing out the best in her students. With her unique sense of humour and kindness, you have the recipe to live to a hundred. She should be a role model for all of us.
    Ken and Christina Graham
