Peacefully at the Vera Davis Center, Bolton, on Wednesday, March 11, 2015, with her family by her side, Phyllis Mae Merrick, in her 82nd year, beloved wife of Vincent Merrick. Loving mother of Terri and Gary Adams, Larry and Liz Pato, Stephen and Trudy, David and Vesna. Adored Nanny of Kyle and Trish, Dean, Michael, Devin, Tyler and Inara, Mackenzie and Darryl, Andrea and Adolfo, Kevin and Whitney, Elyse, Stephanie, David, Taylor, Tyson, Alex, and Emma. Cherished great-grandmother of Drew, Bryson, Holton, and Mya. Survived by her brother Alan Taylor and Bernadette. Predeceased by her siblings George Taylor and Doreen Dodson.
The family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S. (Hwy. 50), Bolton (905-857-2213) on Friday afternoon 2 – 4 and evening 7- 9 o’clock.
Funeral Mass will be held in St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 16066 The Gore Road, Caledon, on Saturday morning, March 14 at 11 o’clock.
Interment St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Schomberg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Vera Davis Center, 80 Allan Drive, Bolton L7E 1P7.

As a child, circumstances where such that I did not see or get to know many of my relatives, but whenever we met at family functions, Phyllis, always made me feel that I belonged and gave me a sense that she felt a closeness to me as to any other cousin that she may have known all her life. I met your mother through our frequent visits to Maureen Lord’s hair salon, Ascot Manor. Over the years we had some lovely conversations and as we became better acquainted “visits”. I looked forward to the days we were both at the salon. She was a lovely, practical and gracious woman and spoke with great pride about her family. It was wonderful to watch she and Vince together.
