With heavy hearts, we bid farewell to Peter Friedrich Wohlert, who peacefully passed away on February 15, 2024, at the age of 88, after a valiant battle. Peter’s life story is one of remarkable resilience and fortitude, marked by his pursuit of a better future from a young age.
Peter’s journey began at age 21 when he embarked on a voyage from Germany to Canada with little more than a small suitcase, a couple of dollars and a dream. A year later he was joined by his love of his life Inge, to whom he was married to until her passing in 1995.
Through sheer determination and an unyielding work ethic, Peter transformed his humble beginnings into a life filled with success and fulfillment. His dedication extended beyond his personal achievements; Peter was an active member of the Masonic Lodge, where he earned the esteemed title of Past Master at the True Blue Lodge in Bolton. His commitment to his community was matched only by his kindness and willingness to lend a helping hand to family and friends.
Peter’s legacy lives on through his loving family: his partner Trudy Eggenberger, sons Kip and Derek and partner Lori, sister Ursula Krausse, brother Claus Wohlert and grandchildren Stefanie, Delaney, and Gavin. He leaves behind a treasure trove of wisdom and guidance, which he generously imparted to his sons, ensuring that his legacy of compassion and hard work endures for generations to come.
Though Peter’s physical presence may have departed, his spirit and the values he embodied will continue to inspire all who knew him.
A celebration of Peter Friedrich Wohlert’s life will be held at his residence located at 22 Bergie Crescent, Victoria Harbour, on Sunday, May 19th, 2024, at 1:00 pm. This gathering is an opportunity for all who knew and loved Peter to come together, reminisce, and share cherished memories and stories of his remarkable journey.
Please join us as we honor Peter’s legacy and celebrate the impact he had on each of our lives. Your presence and participation will contribute to making this a meaningful tribute to a beloved individual who touched the hearts of many.
We look forward to sharing laughter, tears, and fond memories as we commemorate the life of a truly extraordinary man.

To Derek and Kip,
I am very sorry to hear about your father’s death. I had worked with Derek volunteering with Bolton Ambulance. Your father’s amazing story about coming to Canada with nothing is inspiring. He worked hard to raise a family while also helping out his community in many ways. Peter will be missed.
