    I truly regret not having been in contact with Pat in the last few years. Christmas cards sometimes are not enough.

    I have always regarded Pat as a special person dating back to the 1960’s, when I first met her. She was a very special friend to me then, a person to be respected. She was always giving and helping others.

    I am overwhelmed with memories of those days. If nothing else, it makes me want to hold on to the friends that I have made here at Wasaga Beach, not to make little of your Mom at all; she was the embodiment of the perfect mother and friend. Hope to see you on Friday. Pat was a very special person.

    Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this sad time. Grandma/Mom was a person with a big heart that loved people, but more notably loved and cherished her family.

    I think this quote is befitting of someone who was so well loved in life and will continue to live in the hearts of all those she touched.

    God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be. So He put His arms around you and whispered “Come to Me.” With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.

    To all my Turner cousins,
    My heart goes out to you. I pray the love you shared and the memories you made bring you comfort in the difficult hours and days ahead. Aunt Pat so loved all of you.
    Know that all the “Skinner” family will be thinking of you this week, and though we may not be physically there, we are surrounding you with love..

    Aunt Pat was a woman of character and conviction. I remember her insisting on being referred to as “aunt” Pat. Of course, she deserved that respect and got it, and I think she took her title seriously. She always took an interest in me and my family. As such, she was an excellent example of what a family should be – caring, concerned, loving. When my children were younger, she was always so happy to see them and speak to them. When one and two dollar bills were going out of circulation, Aunt Pat bought several and she gave some to my children when they were born. They still have them tucked away in their memory boxes. She would often give Kathryn clothes that Lynda and Ric’s children had grown out of. She would speak so fondly of her grandchildren. I remember seeing her at St. John Fisher church when I lived in Brampton. She had her issues with some of Fr. Grima’s ideas of decorating the church. You knew that being on her bad side was not where you wanted to be. Fortunately, I managed to stay in her good books – she was always so kind. I’m sorry and saddened by my aunt’s passing. She was a good woman, who fought the good fight. May God grant her His peace and comfort.

    Aunt Pat was a warm and supportive aunt to me. She gave me lots of advice and was always hospitable.
    I still say a prayer she taught me and know her recipe for bran muffins by heart.
    One my favorite memories of her was during one of her visits to Texas. We were singing old folk songs and she would sing the lines real fast so that I could sing them in real time with everybody. She was also a great ally when it came to playing cards with the rest of the family.
    Her kids reflect the strong, close knit sense of family that Aunt Pat exuded in her life.
    I will miss her greatly.

    Take comfort in knowing she will be welcomed by her Wildfield friends that went before her. In fact, I can picture them now, sitting together, having their morning coffee…..

    Warm regards

    Our heart felt condolences to David and the entire family at this time of deep loss. We are praying that God, by His Spirit, comfort your entire family in a way that only He can during this time of grief.

    In the midst of pain and sorrow we pray that you find hope and comfort.

    May you find comfort in these few verses from Lamentations Chpater 3:

    3:21 But this I call to mind;
    therefore I have hope:

    3:22
    The Lord’s loyal kindness never ceases;
    his compassions never end.

    3:23 They are fresh every morning;
    your faithfulness is abundant!

    3:24 “My portion is the Lord,” I have said to myself,
    so I will put my hope in him.

    3:25 The Lord is good to those who trust in him,
    to the one who seeks him.

    We would like to send a large hug and squeeze to the family at this time. Although not personally acquainted with Patricia, we probably, unbeknownst to us, have seen glimpses of her through Sheila, Stacey, Keenan, Katya, Dax and Vienna. She is loved so dearly by so many. Patricia must has given herself a good name, the way she lived her life and raised her family; the large list of condolences proves this. She has proved the scripture true in Ecclesiastes 7:1-“A name is better than good oil, and the day of death than the day of one’s being born.”
    Having to experience loss makes all of us pause in our lives, analyze, contemplate, question- why we are here? What is our purpose? How come we experience pain, sickness, death? We all come from a variety of faiths but its all the same conclusion-NO ONE wants to die or lose someone in death. We want to live! We want to live forever-sickness free, no aging process. To live on Earth free of all conflicts and negativity. Patricia looks forward to that promise, Revelation 21:4-“And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
    John 6:40 promises a resurrection of the dead at the last day. We will meet Patricia in person when that scripture is fulfilled. Until then we wait….

  25. Kate Stokes (O'Donnell)

    October 18, 2012 at 8:45 am

    My heart goes out to the Turner family. Aunt Pat had a kind heart and was a lot of fun to be around. She always had a smile on her face and enjoyed having a *house full* of good friends and neighbours and a never ending supply of cups of coffee. Between Mrs Cregg, Aunt Pat and my parents (Ed & Rose O’Donnell), Friday nights at someone’s home was always a good time playing euchre or crib or just talking about events around them.

    I’ll will miss Aunt Pat but I know she is in good hands, probably playing cards and continuing with conversations with good people that left before her. Our Lord will welcome her with warm embrace and loving arms as Aunt Pat has gone home to him.

    ♥ Rest in Peace Aunt Pat, we will miss you dearly. ♥

    Kate Stokes – Wildfield – always in my heart ♥

    I loved walking up the Gore Road from the corner in Wildfield. All those families, including the Turner’s had the winding creek just down the hill. Wildfield was just a great place to live and there are many memories of so many good people such and Pat and her family. My wishes for the family and friends are to remember the good times and celebrate Mrs. Turner’s life and great smile.

    Dear David & Denyse, Sheila & Gary, Randy, Karl, Marlene & Ken, Bob, Lynda & Ric, all Pat’s grandchildren and all other family members,

    I only shared time a short time with Pat in her later years, but will hold very special memories of the chats I had with her at her kitchen table and her visits out west. With the love and support that I have seen you give each other, it is clear your mom raised you all with much love. I will remember her strength of spirit and her kindness. This traditional Irish blessing was one she gave us, which I send back to her now and to all of you at this very sad time:

    May the road rise to meet you,
    May the wind be always at your back.
    May the sun shine warm upon your face,
    The rains fall soft upon your fields.
    And until we meet again,
    May God hold you in the palm of his hand.

    To all the Turner family,
    Our condolences to all of you, I know you’ve been living through a ‘long goodbye’ and I like to think Aunt Pat is peacefully visiting now with her siblings who preceded her to heaven and who were so close to her. The Turner family and all the extended family were so supportive to us when Mom died and then again when Dad died. We wish distance didn’t prohibit us from joining you all this week, but please know that our thoughts are of Aunt Pat and the Turners and we’re sending warm hugs your way.
    Love, Fran and Jerry Rybicki
