It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Palmira Zoratto. She has now joined her husband Mario and son Rino. Palmira, born in Biauzzo, Province de Udine, (Friuli) Italy. Palmira immigrated to Canada in June, 1954 accompanied by her 3 small children, while her husband Mario awaited his family. Through many struggles and sacrifices, she established herself in her community, both Italian and Canadian. Known to many as the Regina del Radicchio and the Regina del Alpini. She was a loving Wife, Mother, Nonna and BizNonna. She will be missed and forever cherished. She is survived by her son Franco (wife Susan), daughter Bruna (husband Pietro), and son Georgio. She was also the loving Nonna of Lisa, Amanda, Daniela, Adam, Mark, Stephanie, Natalie and Philip. BizNonna to Jessica and Luke.
The family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S. (Hwy. 50), Bolton (905-857-2213) Friday afternoon 2 – 4 and evening 7 – 9 o’clock. Funeral Mass will be held in St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 100 Bainbridge Avenue, Woodbridge on Saturday morning, November 24 at 10:30 o’clock (leaving funeral home at 9:45 a.m.) Entombment Glendale Memorial Gardens, Etobicoke. In memory of Palmira, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer Society of Peel, 60 Briarwood Avenue, Mississauga L5G 3N6.
