Honey Marlene Web

MARLENE HONEY passed away peacefully in the presence of her loving son Christopher and devoted partner Jack, at Groves Memorial Community Hospital on July 19, 2017.

She asked that friends call her Marni. Born to William Arthur & Jessie Violet Honey in April 1941. She grew up spending time with her cousin Tommie whom she fondly spoke of all her life, attended Albert College and became a teacher in York Region, touching the lives of many students eventually becoming a guidance counselor to focus on the well-being of others.

Upon retirement, she became a part of her Pine Meadows community in Belwood, leading fitness classes and tutoring for local residents, speaking often of her student, Dan.

Her son Christopher was born in 1971. She found a most loving father for Chris in Robert Berberick in 1976.  Years later she met a dear love, Jack Matheson who has been her friend, partner and caregiver for the last number of years.  She will be missed dearly.

The family will receive their friends and loved ones at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S. (Hwy 50), Bolton (905-857-2213) on Monday evening, July 31 from 6 to 8 o’clock and Tuesday morning, August 1 from 11 o’clock until 12 o’clock. The funeral service will follow immediately in the chapel, after which there will be a lunch reception.

Interment of cremated remains will be placed with her late mother and father in York Cemetery and Funeral Centre, Toronto to take place at a later date.   If desired, memorial donations may be made to Cats Anonymous – www.catsanonymous.ca.  Condolences for the family may be offered at www.EganFuneralHome.com.

Our deepest sympathies to you Jack & Chris and all of Marnie’s family members. Marnie was a special friend not only to myself, but to all my Shelties. She gave my boy Lance, a loving home until he passed away a couple of months ago. She was always on hand to help ‘socialize my puppies’ and knew everyone of my Sheltie kids by name. You will be missed, Marnie…
    Love,
    Joan & Allen
