Leo Abraham

December 1, 2017 By Egan Funeral Home 77 Condolences

Abraham Leo Web
It is with great sadness that the family of Leo Abraham announces his passing on Thursday, November 30th, 2017.  His wife of 15 years Sonia (née Jose), and his sons Owen, Ian, Sebastian, and Ethan will forever miss Leo.  Leo will be fondly remembered by his loving parents Annakutty and Avarachan, his sister Liz, his in-laws Cicily and Joseph Jose, his brother-in-law Justin and an incredibly large group of family, friends, coworkers, and students.
Born March 11th, 1975, Leo was a dedicated father, a loving husband, a devoted son and brother, a popular teacher and a good friend to all who knew him. From a young age, Leo had a love for all types of sports, especially football and wrestling, and later MMA. Leo always had a special way of connecting with people.  Everywhere he went, his genuine and down to earth personality instantly made friends out of strangers. Armed with a light-hearted sense of humour and non-judgmental nature, he was able to create an environment that made anyone feel at ease and accepted in his presence. These unique qualities helped him connect with and mentor countless young students during his nearly 18 years as a teacher. He felt great satisfaction in guiding his students to achieve their best, but his real accomplishment was his family. He will be deeply missed.

The family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S. (Hwy. 50), Bolton (905-857-2213) Wednesday afternoon 1 – 4 o’clock and Thursday evening 5 – 8 o’clock.

Funeral Mass will be held in St. Leonards Parish, 187 Conestoga Drive, Brampton on Friday morning, December 8 at 11 o’clock (leaving funeral home at 10 o’clock).

Interment St. John’s Cemetery, 16066 The Gore Road, Caledon.

Our sincere condolences to the family of a fellow teacher.
We were shocked and saddened to learn of the tragic loss of Mr. Abrham, a fellow educator who was such a fine teacher and a mentor to many of his students.Although we had never had the privilege of meeting Mr. Abraham we could not let this tragic news go without expressing our sincere condolences.
Having occurred on the exact stretch of road we have travelled for several years in the Mayfield area is a double shock and our hearts go out to his widow and children who now have to deal with this immense loss.
We shall keep them all in our thoughts as words cannot describe the immense sadness at learning of this tragic event and hope that their hearts , one day again, be filled with much Joy in remembering Mr. Abraham.

    Dear Sonia,
I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Leo at Bosco for over 2 years. He was the kindest man I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. At school the amount of former students that would come back to see their old teachers were mostly Mr Abraham’s students. Everybody loved him!!! I am so heart broken over his passing. I would always bump into him in town and also at Caledon Day when we saw you and Leo with your beautiful boys. I am praying for you and your family. I will always remember Leo. RIP Mr. Abraham

I remember having Mr. Abraham as my grade 4 teacher. I can recall all the funny, amazing things that
Mr. Abraham would do and say. One thing I remember is that every Monday, we would do a weekend review. Mr. A would always tell his review first. Almost every time, he would tell us about what mischief his sons would get into during mass. These stories would always make the class laugh. I have many fond memories of Mr. Abraham, and I hope he is up in Heaven with God’s arms around him.

Dear Sonia, boys, Avarachen uncle, Annakutty aunty, Liz, and Sonia’s family,
My heart grew heavy with this news. I grew up with Leo in London. Everything written about him in his obituary is absolutely accurate. It was who he was his whole life. An all around great person. No one could ever say a bad thing about him. One of our community’s best people. And to see the outpouring of love from his students later in his life shows that he continued to make a positive impact. My family and I want to express our deep sorrow and condolences to all of you. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

My Deepest sympathy to Leo’s family. I went to high school with Leo and can attest to his kind hearted, warm soul. Always had a smile and a friendly hello and would chat for a few minutes.
    RIP Leo.

    Dearest Sonia and boys,
It brings such deep sorrow to know of Leo’s passing. I pray that the memories of your love as a couple, as a family will help you through this difficult time. I also hope that you are comforted knowing the incredible impact Leo made as a teacher. My nephew Nathan was a student of Leo over 10 years ago and Nathan speaks so fondly of Leo. I comfort Nate during this time of grieving telling him Leo did exactly what teachers are to do- to teach, to inspire to help us reach our dreams. That’s an amazing legacy Leo leaves for every student he has taught and what you and your boys can be so very proud of.

    Much love and prayers, Marizen
