    Sybil and family, I was sorry to hear about the loss of your Father. Dads play an integral part in our lives, and although he has physically left you, he walks with you each and every day. He will never be lost from your hearts.

    June 8, 2020 at 10:11 pm

    There are not many people who can warm your heart just by seeing them from a distance. Granddad was one of them.

    I never had the pleasure to know my own grandfathers but Granddad was embraced by many (including me) as a pseudo grandparent- a role he moulded into with out hesitation.

    I am deeply saddened to hear the news of his passing and, I know I am one of many.

    Lots of people are revered as “sweet”, “kind”, “caring”… Granddad always took the cake when it came to honouring these descriptors.

    I could speak about him endlessly, from the sprawling smile that was always upon his face to the warm welcomes whenever you came in to the door but, in the simplest terms, I am so lucky to have known him.

    All of my love,

    Lauren

    Margaret, Sybil and Family

    An honest man here lies at rest
    The friend of man, the friend of truth,
    The friend of age, and guide of youth:
    Few hearts like his, with virtue warm’d,
    Few heads with knowledge so informed:
    If there’s another world, he lives in bliss;
    If there is none, he made the best of this.

    All my Love
