Uncle Al, Courtney, Abby, Michele, Glen, Mike, Dawn, Kirsten, Kaitlin, Carlee, and Isabel

Our heart breaks for your loss. Glen was kind, loving, always greeting you with a warm smile and great sense of humour. I can remember him chasing the fire truck on his bicycle always wanting to be a part of the excitement and later in life being a part of the process of saving lives, training others, and committed to firefighting in a professional, passionate capacity. He has always loved his family including his extended family. Mom and Dad loved when he would drop by for a visit or a swim on a hot summers day. He has brought so much to so many lives. Let’s celebrate his light, life and love..being thankful for the two beautiful daughters he has given us to carry on in his likeness. He is in the arms of Aunt Isabel just as he was as a baby. our whole family that has gone before him are embracing him and he is at home. Our arms embrace you, our hands wipe your tears, you are loved! XXOO

There have been countless laughes, jokes and serious times shared between Glen and I…I truly feel your pain and hope that you can feel some form of comfort knowing that Glen made a difference in the lives of people he knew. The legacy that is The Bracken Family in their service to Caledon East and The Town of Caledon maybe not well know, but then again it is not the style of great people to make it about them. They quietly go about their business, happy to serve their community with little fanfare. I feel privileged to have known Glen.

There are no words to express the sorrow to the family and his girls. Glen spent long days with us at the Post Office. The laughs you would bring when we were on those long delivery routes at Downsview. You were there when it counts always as a co-worker and dear friend. I miss hearing the boys call you BOY. Thank you for the memories and friendship and the teasing, calling each other Poopy pants. You will be so missed. You are in peace my friend. Is the only comfort at this time keep the boys you join up there laughing. I’m sure you will be watching over your girls, family and friends. Until we meet again

To lose any volunteer first responder is a tragic loss for Caledon and for this to happen to the Brackens, the first family of first responders, it must be particularly hard since Glen was so young. Dear Bracken family,

My sincerest condolences on the loss of Glen. I am the widow of Brampton Firefighter Murray Wilson who died 25 years ago at the age of 33 as a result of PTSD. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time and my heart goes out to you as I have walked this path. I was given these words of wisdom at the time of my husbands death and I hope that they are of comfort in the days ahead: “DO NOT ALLOW A SINGLE ACT OF DESPERATION TO DEFINE A PERSON’S LIFE”. Glen’s life was so much more……..
