I am devastated at this. I have lost touch with my beautiful friend over the past few years and only discovered her illness yesterday Dawna was one of the most beautiful sincere people I ever met. THe world was a better place with her in it. But now, she is surrounded by kittens and cats in heaven. I will never forget you my friend

I am heart broken to hear that sweet Dawna has lost her battle to such a cruel disease. I will always remember her smile, her laugh and her passion for her cats. I am honoured and feel so blessed to have known her and be apart of her life as her hairdresser of many many years. We had great chats and often solved the problems of the world all in the time it took to do a hair cut. I wish to send my most sincere condolences and deepest sympathy to her entire family and friends. Rest Peacefully Dearest Dawna. I can not bring myself to say ” Goodbye” but I will say “I will see you again one day my friend”. Xoxo

The news came as a complete shock to me even though I haven’t seen Dawna at Zehr’s lately. It is hard to believe that someone who I still picture walking into my grade 6 classroom and sitting quietly in the back left section of the classroom, is no longer here . She was a beautiful, quiet and thoughful girl loved by everybody. I am deeply saddened and I wish I had the power to change things. My thoughts go out to Brian and the whole Hunt family.

    An Angel Walks Beside Us
Each one of us receives an angel guardian at birth, who walks along beside us every day we spend on earth.
Invisible, these angels never leave us day or night.
They know our fears and whisper, “Things are going to be all right.”
They give us strength and purpose, keep hope and courage strong, they fill our minds with wisdom and our spirits with a song.
May you find comfort in knowing that your loved one has been guided gently home.
My deepest sympathy to you Marilyn, Oscar, family and Rob

I knew Dawna first as a customer at Zehr’s-and as a volunteer at the Caledon Animal Shelter.Every so often I would spend a Saturday at the store with a table-raising awareness and accepting donations on behalf of the shelter.Dawna and I got to know each other because of our shared love of animals and each of us are passionate about the “cause”.I was shocked and devastated to learn she was so ill and has now passed.Dawna was a beautiful,,compassionate woman.I can only imagine the pain you,her family,,her friends/co-workers must feel now.The world has lost an amazing woman…..tears… my deepest sympathies to you all….

I’ve known Dawna for about 10 or 11 yrs. from the Dunmore softball tournament. She was truly a beautiful person inside and out! I’m from the US and one of the biggest highlights of the Dunmore for me, was to get to see Dawna & Rob!! Dawna was such a giving person. Here’s a little story which shows the type of heart she had. About 8 yrs ago after we had finished our softball games we were all socializing and having a few drinks. While talking with Dawna & Rob, I told Rob that I liked his softball windbreaker that had a funny saying on it! I barely got finished commenting on it and Dawna said “Rob give it to him!” Rob immediately began to take it off. I said ” no I don’t want you to give it to me, I just think it’s cool!” Shortly after that I stepped away, a few mins later I was tapped on the shoulder when I turned around I saw Rob & Dawna standing there with her arms extended and the windbreaker neatly folded! I still wear it, and I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve told this story when people comment just as I did!! But I won’t give it away, lol! I feel lucky to have known her, and I will miss her dearly….
My condolences to all family & Rob

I am very sadden to hear the news of Dawna’s passing. I worked together with Dawna at Agfa for many years. We lost touch over the last few years, but I will always remember her great beautiful smile when she walked into the office. She was always a happy person and always ready to help anyone at anytime. I have great memories of her that I will always cherish. To Rob and Dawna’s family; my deepest condolences to you all – you now have a beautiful angel watching over you all.

Dawna was a breath of sunshine. Losing someone as special as Dawna is so difficult to understand and seems meaningless. Life as we know it appears unfair. I loved her and will miss her being here with all of us. I will always have memories of her as the beautiful and fun spirit who loved to laugh. My sincerest and deepest sympathy to the Hunt family and Rob. Dawna will never be forgotten.

    My dearest Dawna
My heart just aches, knowing this is my last public letter to you. Right now I have no idea where to begin. Your loss is inconsolable to me. People tell me that time heals, well I don’t know if I have enough time lol. I will always remember how courageous, and with such dignity you took on your final ‘job’ and although it beat you you. Gave it a run for the money. I’m so proud to have called you my sister!

Rest in peace my little sister,
    I love you

I was so sad to hear about that wonderful lady at Zehrs passing away. She was such a classy woman, and ALWAYS had a smile for me. I told her once that she should be in the movies, she was so beautiful. She shyly yet gracefully accepted the compliment. No matter that I didn’t know her personally, she really did leave an imprint on my soul. I will miss her presence.

I was so sad to learn of Dawna’s passing in the Enterprise this week. I only knew Dawna through Zehrs for the last few years, as a customer. But I want Rob and her family to know how much she is missed, even by those who hardly knew her. Dawna always had such a welcoming smile when going through checkout. She was always so interested in both my young children and me. We always chatted and I always thought about how she was such an incredibly beautiful person, both inside and out. She told me about her boyfriend (later fiancé) and how she loved being an aunt. Both my husband and I will miss her dearly. Zehrs will never be the same. I can only imagine your grief. I do hope you find comfort in your memories and know that many people mourn her passing. May she rest in peace and continue to live on in your hearts and memories.
