It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Barbara Marie Paluch-Berthiaume in Bacon Cove, Newfoundland, her beloved home away from home.  Barbara was a kind, patient, devoted woman who was committed to helping and caring for all of those around her.  She enjoyed sharing laughter with friends and colleagues and as a dedicated teacher of 30 years, she helped to shape the lives and attitudes of countless students.  In retirement Barbara dedicated important time in her parish and community.  She will be deeply missed by all of those who came to know her.   Barbara is predeceased by her mother Lucy Paluch, and mother-in-law Dorothy Berthiaume.  Barbara is survived by her dear husband Maurice (Moe) Berthiaume; loving son Robert James Berthiaume; daughter-in-law Lindsay Nolan; father Joseph (Joe) Paluch; sisters: Diane Poloczek, and Wendy Dukelaw; father-in-law Maurice D. Berthiaume; and many other extended family.

The family will receive their friends and family at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S. (Hwy 50), Bolton (905-857-2213) on the morning of Saturday September 28th 2019, starting at 9 o’clock.

Funeral Mass will follow at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, 60 Allan Drive, Bolton at 11 o’clock (leaving funeral home at 10:45 am).

In lieu of flowers, donations in Barbara’s memory can be made to the Holy Family Parish Bible Ministry Fund, 60 Allan Drive, Bolton L7E 1P7.

Words are inadequate to express my heartfelt sympathies to Moe the beloved husband and her son Robert and his wife Lindsay at the sudden departure of angelic person Barbara Marie Berthiaume.
She has been a woman of great faith all along her life. She was an exemplary teacher to the students, best friend to her colleagues, and compassionate person to all her neighbours.
In Holy Family Parish community, she was a vibrant participant in all faith activities, as a reader, communion minister and volunteer.
She was an amazing lover of the Bible – she had insatiable thirst for the Word of God, it was her primary joy to come for Bible Study Group Sessions, and Bible Lectures, She was all the time busy in taking notes on discussions. She was an excellent student of Sacred Scripture. She is very much loved and now missed by all at Holy Family. I believe that Barbara has gone to meet the Biblical Personalities and God’s community in heaven. May her Soul find joy in God. My prayerful sympathies to Moe and his family and friends.
