Anna Victoria Maria Vogel (nee Pantele)

September 19, 2017 By Egan Funeral Home 4 Condolences

Vogel website

It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the passing of Anna Victoria Maria Vogel (nee Pantele).  After living for many years with different chronic illnesses, she passed away peacefully at Maple Grove Care Community Nursing Home in Brampton, on September 18, 2017, at the age of 84.

She was the beloved wife of the late Emil Vogel who predeceased her on November 13, 2005. Cherished Mother and Mother-In-Law of Brigitte (Horst), Bruno (Kelly), and Christine (Darrin). Loving Oma of Michael (Genevieve), Kristi (Daniel), Richard (Tom), Matthew (Laura), Olivia and Mitchell.  Adored Great-Oma (Yaya) of Mats, Summer, Ashley, Catherine, Brooke, Presley and London. Dear Sister of the Late Rudolph (Regina) and family, Eric (Rosie) and family, Tony (Ilse) and family, and Ludwig (Monika) and family.  Dear Sister-In-Law of Josef (Maria) Vogel and family.  Anna is predeceased by her mother Helene Pantele.

Anna was born in Weilheim, Germany in 1933. She grew up there, and married Emil Vogel there in 1953.  In 1958 Anna followed her husband and her brother Tony to Canada with her then, two children, Brigitte and Bruno, and her sister-in-law Ilse and daughter Angela. Anna and Emil were very grateful to live in Canada for the friends they made, the opportunities they had to work hard and become successful in their endeavours, and to raise their family which then included their daughter Christine.  Anna enjoyed cooking, Bingo, gardening, knitting and travel. She loved watching sports on television especially, curling, tennis, golf, soccer, baseball, hockey, and on occasion, even football. But most of all Anna loved her family and loved watching them all grow up to be good people. She was proud of all of them.  She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all of her family and friends.

The family will receive their friends at Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street South, (Hwy. 50) Bolton (905-857-2213)  on Thursday, September 21 from 1:30 – 3 o’clock.  Funeral service will be held in the chapel at 3 o’clock.   Followed by cremation. Reception to follow funeral service.

If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, www.heartandstroke.ca

Ann and Emil were the special kinds of neighbours that one always hopes that one will have the good fortune to know. Ann watched our family grow up and always had a special spot for Craig as he grew up under her caring watch. Both Dianne and Janet always liked to chat with Ann and hear of the courageous life that she and Emil set out on as they arrived in Canada. She will be missed but it is also good that with her passing so shall she finally be relieved of her chronic pain.

Rest well Ann, you have earned it.

Norm HUGGINS and family, Janet, late Dianne, Tara, Ryan, Lindsay, Jeff, and Craig, and our eleven grandchildren.
