Peacefully, with family at her side, at Royal Victoria Hospital, Barrie, on Sunday, August 4, 2013, Pieta van Arnhem, in her 89th year, beloved wife of the late Adolf (Dolf) van Arnhem, Orangeville. Cherished mother of Ingrid van Arnhem and Graham Miller, Los Angeles, California; Marijke and Ken Guild, Daytona Beach, Florida; Peter van Arnhem, North Carolina; Jolanda Coburn, Dunnville; Pieta van Arnhem and Chris Hadfield, Orangeville. Loving Oma to 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Dear sister of Greetje and her husband Gerard van der Toolen, Holland. Pieta’s family wish to extend a special thank you to Dr. Lopez and nurses Brooke and Katie who kept her comfortable at Royal Victoria Hospital Respiratory In-Patient Unit.
The family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home Baxter & Giles Chapel, 273 Broadway, Orangeville (519-941-2630) on Thursday, August 8 from 2:30 p.m. until time of funeral service in the chapel at 3 o’clock. It was a great honour to have known this admazing woman. Through the past years I was able to meet most of Pieta’s family. It began as a working relationship and grew into a friendship which I cherished very much. It was a great pleasure to sit and have coffee with Pieta and hear her stories, which I loved to hear. Pieta was a great friend to me and will forever be in my heart.
Cherished memories of you live in our hearts, as you have become our angel.
