On her beloved farm in Caledon, on Thursday, October 8th, 2026, Beryle Kolb, at the age of 88, was reunited with her husband-Emil. Loving mother of Paul and Marion, Jean, Mary and David (deceased), Susan and Bob. Cherished Gramma of John and Kim, Karen and Brad, Robert and Kelly, Amanda and Dean, Jessica, Ryan, Amelia, and JoeBob. Proud Great-Gramma of Colby, Erica, Della, Zack, River, Rebel, Reed, Emmett, Kurtis, Everett, and Vaida.
Beryle married for love, a love that lasted a lifetime. For nearly her entire life, Mount Hope Road was home, a cherished place where she and Emil raised their family and welcomed generations of loved ones.
Together, they raised their children with all the warmth, love, dedication, and hard work farm life required. The farm was a comforting place to come home to for their seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, as well as the many nieces and nephews who knew the door was always open. It smelled of fresh-baked goods, where a card game was always ready, and where Beryle, more often than not, came out the winner. Her gardens and property were as meticulous as her house, reflecting the care and pride she brought to everything she did.
A true matriarch, Beryle leaves behind not only a beloved family, but also a lasting legacy in her community. Generosity was at her core, and she gave freely of her time, energy, and heart. Over the years, she was an active volunteer and contributor to many community organizations and events: the Bolton Fall Fair, 4-H Club, Horticultural Society and volunteer driving citizens for Caledon Community Services. She believed in doing things properly, and beneath that polished exterior was a warm heart and a wonderful sense of humour.
Throughout Emil’s political career, Beryle was his steadfast and supportive partner, graciously embracing public life. She carried herself with a grace and presence that never went unnoticed.
For 70 years, St. John’s Catholic Church held a special place in Beryle’s heart and was an important part of her life. She expressed her faith not only through weekly Mass, but through decades of service to her parish community. Like so many things in Beryle’s life, she often contributed quietly and faithfully behind the scenes, simply because she cared and believed in giving back.
Beryle was wise and practical, with a powerful combination of hands-on capability and resourcefulness, often sewing clothes for the children and creating tasty preserves to last. She cared for others, brought people together and got things done. Her tender love lives on in the family she built, the community she gave so much to, and in the many memories created around her table, in her garden, and on the farm she called home.
Generosity was at the very heart of who Beryle was. She carried the Munro DNA of fierce determination, matched by an extraordinary capacity for love. She loved to love, and through the years, so many family, friends, neighbours, and members of her community had the gift of being loved by her.
The family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street South, Bolton on Tuesday afternoon 2-4 and evening 6-8 o’clock. Beryle was a truly wonderful individual. I was a guest at her house on numerous occasions because of my work with Emil. She was always warm, hospitable, and had a very sly sense of humour. My deepest condolences to the entire Kolb family.
