Henry Alfred Morton

September 16, 2020 By Egan Funeral Home 20 Condolences

Morton Web

Peacefully on Tuesday, September 15, 2020, at King Nursing Home, Bolton, Henry Alfred Morton, in his 94th year, beloved husband of Jean Morton. Loving father of Beverly, Gary, Greg (Vera), Jeremy, Melissa (Thomas). Cherished grandfather of Emma, Gareth, Garen, Garyck, Graeme, Sophia, Benjamin. Proud great-grandfather of Coleen and Max. Predeceased by his brothers William Morton and Charles Morton.

Henry will be fondly and forever remembered for his love of old British cars, his wonderful British sense of humour, and his ever-present whistling and humming in accompaniment to every activity he may have been engaged in.  The world is, sadly, a quieter place without him and his music.

Cremation has taken place. Condolences for the family may be offered at www.EganFuneralHome.com

I am so sorry for the loss of husband, father and grandfather, great grandfather . I remember many a time when I worked at the Cooperators in Bolton Henry and Jean coming by. Of course Beverly and I worked there together and have remained friends for probably over 30 years since. The loss of a special family member is huge and I who have gone through it a few times smile at their photos, remember anniversaries of everything and talk about this dear one every day. Always missed but never forgotten. My love and condolences go out to the family of dear Henry ❤️

Dear Auntie Jean, Bev, Gary, Greg, Jeremy, Melissa and your families
I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Uncle Henry. I have so many fond childhood memories doing things inspired by the biggest kid of all—building forts in the barn and driving shed, swinging on the trapezes your dad put up for us, rolling down hills in barrels and tires your dad brought out for us to try, in the winter, a chair nailed to two skis. Uncle Henry was great at coming up with new ideas and contraptions and sharing his passion for having fun. It was such a treat to have the privilege of riding in one of his beloved English cars and I will never forget the many rides in the back of the Jeep on the way to the dump singing “The Red Baron”. We have lost touch over the years, but my memories feel like it was only yesterday. You are all in my thoughts and prayers at this time.

My deepest sympathy goes out to everyone in the Morton family.
The thought of Mr. Morton just brings a huge smile to my face. I was very lucky to have known him as a kid, growing up with Gary. I only have great memories of that time and Mr. Morton, whose character and humour were truly special.
I hope everyone in the family is coping well and I am very sorry for your loss.
