Peacefully at Headwaters Health Care Centre, Orangeville, on Saturday, July 11, 2020, Ted Pope, in his 95th year, beloved husband of the late Catherine Ida Myrtle Pope (nee Hunter) (1994). Loving father of Teddy (Elizabeth), Gord (Carol), Larry (Debbi), and Kevin (Lisa). Cherished grandfather of Matthew, Mara, Sandra, Erin, Brent, Derek, Shannon, Kristy, Sheena, Alex, Alicia, David, James, and Ashley. Proud great-grandfather of Farrah, Dakoda, and Andie. Dear brother of the late William Pope and Lois McPhedran. Fondly remembered by his nieces, Mary Lou, Janet, and Margaret. Sadly missed by Barb. Many thanks to the incredible staff at Chartwell and Headwaters Health Care Centre for their compassionate and loving care.
Due to the global pandemic, a private family graveside service will be held in Caledon East Public Cemetery.
Masks are mandatory while attending the service.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Grandpa was a lot of wonderful things. An ambitious, hardworking entrepreneur, a loving husband, partner, father, and so on – a true family man. As his granddaughter, one of his most memorable characteristics to me was how much he just adored kids. I think he ran a pretty tight ship with his sons, but man was he ever a softy with his grandchildren.
I’ll always remember the sound of his voice when he would so sweetly and lovingly say “aww, poor baby“ if ever one of us had a meltdown or a boo-boo. You couldn’t help but hear and feel his love. I’m so grateful to have been able to spend time with him and Sheena’s and Nando’s girls over the last couple of years, as it was probably the happiest I’ve seen him in quite a while.
I will also never forget the pool rescue. Dad was, I suppose, “testing my stamina” without water-wings in the deep end for the first time (lol, I was fine). Grandpa approached to see me floundering a little (and probably being a touch dramatic).. and I guess he didn’t see Dad standing watch, because Grandpa ran full-tilt across the patio and dove in fully clothed, shoes and everything, to rescue me. He probably had a few choice words for Dad at the time, but it sure made a cherished and hilarious memory.

We offer our sincere condolences at this time with the loss of your Dad…to you and your families and loved ones. Although we had lost touch over the years I know that my sisters & brother & I would talk about our times together with your family & we enjoyed updates from Dad and Jennifer.
I recall a story that your Uncle Ted told us once about a vanity license plate he wanted to purchase & the Ministry nixed it, until one was submitted that they approved. Uncle Ted said he just wanted to make others smile when they saw his plate!
