Lois and family – I’m so sorry to learn of Norm’s passing!

A funny story that I hope brings a smile to you … the first time I’d played euchre with him, not knowing his name, he finally asked me why I kept calling him “Not”. I said … “that’s what your score card says”. Well, of course it was his shorthand for No (Norm) T (Taylor). “NoT”. And then came the smirk.

I’ve never forgotten – still makes me smile. Even though I hadn’t seen him for awhile, he was always held fondly in my thoughts.

    Deepest condolences to you all.

  10. Edna Wright

    June 2, 2020 at 5:15 pm

Any time we would meet, Norm would ask’ How is the farming going’? when we met up at playing cards.
Sending our Sincere Sympathy to Lois, and all the Taylor Family’s; just remember all the good times
together, and I’m sure there were many. Roy & Edna Wright.

Dear Lois, Donna, Barb and Nancy, Matt, Taylor, Jessica, Chris, Addison, Flynn, Sawyer, Callan and the rest of your amazing family,

My deepest condolences on the loss of your husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Norm. It has been so difficult to express the sorrow I feel at your loss. Mr. Taylor was such an important person in my life, as I am pretty sure I spent more time at the farm than at my house growing up! Those are some of the best memories of my life, and Norm (and Lois) is a big part of all of them. The last few years Norm has fought a heroic battle, and I thought (and prayed) he may go on forever. He had a lot to live for and he certainly fought to get those extra days in!

I wish we could be with you all tomorrow, but I can’t imagine there’s a church big enough to hold everyone who would like to come to say goodbye! At least know we are standing with you at home.

    All my love,
    Carol McLeod & family

Back in the 70s, I had a summer job at Albion Hills, working in the snack bar, near the ‘lake’. Norm was always kind to us kids; he’d give us a call from the booth at the entrance whenever our boss was on the way in just so we could make it look like we were working hard when he got there! You know how when you’re young, you don’t see yourself as anything other than a kid but then you meet some grown-ups who treat you like you’re a grown up, too? Well, that was Norm. All these years, I have never forgotten his friendly smile as he waved us into the park. Condolences to the family. He was a nice man and will be remembered.
    Sincerely
    Tamra Mann

Such sad news. I never knew Norm had passed. I drive by the house the last couple of months and see the property and think that Norm has it looking good again like every other year. So sad! A lot of fond memories working with Norm at the conservation. My sympathies to the Taylor family.
