    Harvey, Rosemary and Christopher:
Ever since we moved down to Nancy Street we have counted Bill and Pearl as neighbours and friends. We grieved with all of Bolton when Bill was taken so suddenly. Pearl joined us on trips to the Maritimes, Europe and Scandinavia. I have so many wonderful memories of those years. My heart goes out to you!

Sending deepest sympathies to the family of this dear lady.

I knew Pearl first , about 1965, by her well known reputation as a wonderful teacher in Bolton. Our paths crossed at meetings until her retirement, and during that time, I learned that her reputation was well deserved. Years later, as members of RWTO, I was Pearl’s contact person. I called her several times each year, for a few years. We had the most wonderful conversations. I found her to be very perceptive, supportive and extremely kind. I was so pleased to finally know the lovely lady, I had first known by reputation, only. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Mrs. Newlove taught me in Grades 1 and 2 at Ellwood back in the late 70s. I absolutely loved her. And she never forgot a student – whenever I ran in to her around town she always remembered me. My condolences to her family.

I got to know Pearl when I volunteered through the Caledon Library to take library books to her. She amazed me when I discovered that she preferred non-fiction books, especially those that dealt with historical figures and current events…and the more challenging the book..the better. Her enthusiasm for these books led us to have many good conversations. As the years went by we gradually spent just as much time talking about family, friends and Bolton. She especially loved her grandchildren and was thrilled with each new arrival of a great grandchild. She proudly showed me things that the young ones had made for her. When she needed to make the move to a retirement home in Mississauga we seldom saw each other but I will always fondly remember my visits with Pearl. My husband Carmen and I send our sympathy to her family and we know that you have many good memories of Pearl to cherish. Carole Sisto

I was saddened to hear of the passing of my former colleague Pearl. I first met Pearl when I started teaching at Ellwood in the late 1970’s. She was much loved by her students and was a well respected educator.

    My condolences to her family.

I have known Mrs. Newlove since my early beginnings in Sunday School at the Bolton United Church. She was always kind and very supportive when I entered my teaching career. Whenever we met through the years, we always had a good visit. My husband was just getting to know her husband Bill, one of the founding members of Bolton Volunteer Ambulance, as he was joining the organization. Suddenly in 1979, we were all shocked as Bill died of a heart attack at Orangeville Hospital, moments after delivering a patient. Be proud of the many long and useful years that she lived. Remember the good times and find peace.

Though I lost touch with Aunt Pearl some years ago, I will always have wonderful memories of visiting she & Uncle Bill. They were two of the kindest people one could ever know. My most vivid memory is of playing the organ at their house with my Brother Scott – I wonder where that organ is today?

I am sorry to hear of Aunt Pearls passing but she did have a long, good life. May she rest in peace.

My thoughts are with all of her family at this time. Peace be with you.

    Rosemary & Harvey & families:
The Moffatt family have known Pearl all our lives & Mom & Dad were great friends. My Mom was on the Fair Board with her & also other functions in the Church.
She was a wonderful lady & a great school teacher & also a Sunday school teacher. My Dad was chairman of the school board & had great respect for your Mom as did the family of ours for your Dad also. Our thoughts & prayers are with you at this time of grief, but she has had a wonderful life with all of you and cherish the memories forever. She was a well respected person in Bolton, may she rest in peace.

I had the privilege of getting to know Pearl when she volunteered at the Davis Centre, such a lovely lady, gentle and kind, a true Christian. I fondly remember on Wednesdays we would take some residents for a country drive around Caledon stop for an ice cream or a hot chocolate, and Pearl would tell us so much about the Caledon area.
    Please accept my deepest condolences.

I was saddened to hear of the passing of Pearl from Jamie Nicholls!
She was truly a wonderful mentor who took me under her wing and taught me what it meant to be a teacher!
She taught me dedication because it takes time to understand how much time you have to put in to be a teacher !
That she did !! I thank her and she is a wonderful person who made a difference !! Thank you Pearl for all your
years you taught at Ellwood and gave so much of your time to your students and young teachers like myself!!
