Peacefully at Headwaters Health Care Centre, Orangeville, on Wednesday, September 30, 2015, Victor Messer, in his 78th year, beloved husband of Trudy. Loving father of Richard (Debbie), and Lauren O’Leary. Dear grandfather of Maddi and Keegan O’Leary. He will be fondly remembered by his extended family Doug, Sharon, Kim and Branden Lewis.
A memorial service will be held at St. James Anglican Church, 6029 Old Church Road, Caledon East on Wednesday, October 7 at 11 o’clock.
A reception at the church will follow the memorial service.

If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Dufferin or the Carlo Fidani Regional Cancer Centre.

Trudy, I am heartbroken for you. You have been a steadfast and loyal partner and wife to Vic and he loved you so much. When I think of the two of you, it’s from the beginning and there were so many laughter filled moments and that’s what I’ll remember. In going through pictures last night, I recalled that the two of you were always laughing and having fun. And what a flirt he was! Harmless of course but shameless. And I will always hear that low Russian growl from the back of his throat when he was doing something bad and the big puckered lips coming in for a sound smootch. For Richard and Debbie, Lauren, Maddi and Keegan, I think we only met once, but I offer you my condolences as well on the loss of your father and grandfather. He was a great guy and I’m sure he wouldn’t want anyone being sad and teary over him for long. Grieve his loss for sure but enjoy memories of the good times of which there were many.
