Peacefully at Shelburne Residence, on Saturday, April 9, 2016, Zelma Jean Cannon, Caledon East, in her 93rd year, beloved wife of the late Bert Appleby. Loving mother of Bill and Janice, Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia; John, Brechin; David and Diane, Caledon East. Cherished grandmother of Wendy and Vince Tirabasso, Fiona and Josh Gray, Eric and Wendy Appleby, Mark and Carrie Harkness, and Shannon Harkness. Proud great-grandmother of Raquella, Jonah, Lena, Grant, May Lynn, Allison, David, Edgar, Esther, Celeste, and Cassandra. Dear sister of Robert (deceased) and Shirley Cannon, Jim and Thelma Cannon.
The family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S. (Hwy. 50), Bolton (905-857-2213) Wednesday afternoon 2 – 4 and evening 7 – 9 o’clock.
Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Thursday, April 14 at 2 o’clock.
Interment Caledon East Public Cemetery.
If desired, memorial donations may be made to Parkinson Society Canada, 316- 4211 Yonge Street, Toronto M2P 2A9 or Caledon East United Church, 6046 Old Church Road, Caledon East L7C 1H8.

Bill, John and David – Since I learned of your mother’s passing, I find myself thinking of you and your families and how much we will all miss her. Aunt Zelma and Uncle Bert were a large part of my childhood.

My deepest condolences to the Family on the passing of Mum Zelma, who called me a daughter for over forty years. She always displayed her strong sense of family, and loved nothing more than time with her Grandchildren and great Grandchildren.

Mrs Appleby was always the gentle lady I have known for over 35 years. Always considerate, gracious and yet humble. For having known such person’s as Bert and Zelda, restored my faith in humanity. The world is the poorer for their passing.
